About LOTW CAM Since opening its doors in 2004, Dr. Vinson B. Pineda Light of the World Christian Academy of Makati (LOTW CAM) is a DepEd recognized integrated school known for its emphasis on Growth Mindset, Christian Leadership and progressive approach to 21st century education. Led by Light of the World Christian Ministries and renowned dermatologist Dermclinic president Dr. Vinson B. Pineda, CAM focuses on becoming a leading 21st century school producing godly-leaders and excellent innovators for the glory of God. The school offers programs from Kindergarten to Senior High School.

Learning Management System For our Learning Management System, we are using the most progressive and highly engaging platform - Brightspace created by D2L Canada that is used by more than 15 million learners worldwide. Brightspace has award-winning accessibility features that make it easy for students to navigate tools using assistive technologies. Video-based assessments, gamification, and video conferencing allow personalized learning experiences. With a multi-modality approach students will experience a healthy blend of on/offline activities striking a balance between home and school life.

Curriculum and Grading System CURRICULUM CAM Curriculum for SY 2021-2022 is aligned to the Department of Education prescribed Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELC) for Online Distance Learning (ODL) geared towards application and creation of new knowledge and skills to real life setting; differentiated instruction and integration of 21st century skills are emphasized. INSTRUCTIONAL DELIVERY: HYBRID/BLENDED APPROACH a. Online distance learning using Brightspace Learning Management System ( LMS ) b. Synchronous: student and teachers interact live using Zoom & Brightspace c. Asynchronous: students work offline on their textbook exercises, e-books and uploaded materials.

Curriculum and Grading System GRADING SYSTEM CAM follows the DepEd K-12 Grading System. CAM has removed the Long Test and reduced the Performance Tasks to align to the MELCs. To ensure the effectiveness Achievement Test is given of teaching, diagnostic tests to students at the beginning will be given to students per of Fourth Quarter and is part semester (August 26-27, 2021 of the Performance Tasks in and January 12-13, 2021) the following subjects- Subjects includes English, Science, English, Math and Math, Science, Filipino and Filipino. Abstract Reasoning.

Curriculum and Grading System DEPED K-12 GRADING SYSTEM The minimum grade needed to pass a specific learning area is 60 (raw score), which is transmuted to 75 in the report card. Learners from Grades 1 to 12 are graded on Written Work (WW), Performance Tasks (PT), during this online learning set-up. Curriculum and Grading System CONDUCT OF SUBMISSION OF REQUIREMENTS Written Task and Completion Monitoring Week This completion monitoring week is conducted two weeks before the grades deliberation for every quarter. Class advisers will be distributing colored slips to student who fail to complete the requirements in that quarter even with reminders to students and parents. A Parent-Teacher Conference will be conducted upon the receipt of the slip. YELLOW SLIP Given to students who fail to submit 4 or less requirements (all subjects) BLUE SLIP Given to students who fail to submit 5 or more requirements (all subjects) EAGBELRUEBSELAIVPER Given to students who completed written AWARD works and performance tasks in all subjects.

Curriculum and Grading System ACADEMIC AWARDS Quarterly / Annual Citation: Academically-excelling students are being recognized each quarter. The guidelines for selection of honors are as follows: Academic Average Grade Minimum Grade Excellence per Quarter per Subject With Highest 98 - 100 93 Honors With High Honors 95 - 97 88 With Honors 90 - 94 85

MSD Guidelines LEARNING READINESS Dress Code & Learning Space Students must wear a shirt. Spaghetti straps and/or sleeveless is highly discouraged. Before logging in, parents must ensure that their child is physically ready and have taken breakfast. Make sure that your child’s gadget is charged and his/her learning materials are within reach.

MSD Guidelines ATTENDANCE Students must Log In at zoom 10 minutes before scheduled time. Attendance will be checked by all subject teachers. During lunch break students must log out. A student is considered tardy if he/she is late for more than 5 minutes. Three (3) days of tardiness will be considered as one (1) day of absence except for excused lateness. Excused Tardiness: A student may only acquire a - Not feeling well maximum of two (2) excused - Internet connection issues absences in a month. If the student - Power interruption is absent for a particular day, - Typhoon parents must notify the adviser via - Family emergencies instant messaging or email in Brightspace.

MSD Guidelines SUSPENSION OF CLASSES All class suspension announcements are made via Brightspace and/or text blast. MSD Guidelines PARENTAL CONCERNS Parents are encouraged to login to their Brightspace account regularly to check on their child’s class progress and important circulars. Parents Brightspace account will be available soon. Parents may communicate classroom- related concerns with the teachers/adviser through the communication tools (instant messaging and email features) of Brightspace from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM only. For major concerns, parents must send an email to the coordinator and teachers concerned so that appointments may be set.

MSD Guidelines NETIQUETTE Students are required to always turn their video on while having on-screen classes. Students are asked to “mute” or “unmute” their audio during recitation. Waiting for one’s turn must be practiced. When raising a question, use raise hand function located in the “Participants” panel and wait to be acknowledged. For safety and security students are NOT allowed to share their On-Screen link and passcode.

MSD Guidelines NETIQUETTE To save internet bandwidth students may not use virtual backgrounds or filters. Respectful behavior is expected even in breakout session activities with classmates and to work together to complete the activity. Unnecessary noise like mumbling in the mic, tapping, and loud voices will not be tolerated. Most important of all students must participate and enjoy the class.
