Throughout the companies lifespan we have been constantly looking at ways to reduce our environmental footprint and help construction sites gain easy access to raised access flooring with a minimal environmental impact. Accreditations Bathgate Flooring manage, monitor and certify our environmental impact. ISO14001 We have implemented a full ISO 14001 system to manage and monitor our environmental impact. This means we are constantly checking on our energy usage, recycling and waste to give Bathgate Flooring the minimal environmental footprint. FSC CERTIFICATION Our systems have been verified by the Forest Stewardship Council as able to track the origin of our timber purchases and pass this on to the customer in a full Chain of Custody. Reducing Energy Use We are producing more panels for our customers, but Per Panel our energy use has remained stable. This means that our energy use per panel has dropped substantially. Our First Carbon Report for 2019 - 2020 reported 0.164kgCo2e/panel produced. EN 14322 Timber The main engineered wood core of our products is E1 E05 Emission Class made up from chipboard manufactured to EN 14322 standards. The binder for the product includes formaldehyde is classed at E1 E05 Emission Class. E1 classification relates to the raw board. This is the lowest classification available. This raw board is overlaid with decor paper which almost completely seals the board leaving only narrow edges The resulting surface is physiologically safe and approved for contact with food.
