Being the first month of the new year, there are a lot of expecta�ons riding on January. People want their EDITORIAL new year to be great with that famous fresh January start. We the Rotaract Club of GCT Coimbatore felt very much contented in com- pleting the event \" Pongal thiruvizha ~����ன் ெபாங் கல் ெகாண் டாட்டம் \" Here we joined togeth- er as a family and celebrated the festival Pongal. We followed each and every tradition and completed the celebration with a contented heart. We played some traditional games like uriyadi, lemon and spoon, etc. Our DRR Elect Rtr. PP. Kishore Babu, GRR Rtr. PP. Sathish Bal- akrishnan, and GRS Rtr. IPP. Reshma joined us in the cele- bration. As a whole, this was such a moment to be cher- ished forever in our college diaries. 08

On 13th March 1968, the Rotaract Club of the University of North Carolina, sponsored by the Rotary Club of North Charlo�e, North Caroli- na, USA, was the first Rotaract Club to receive its official Charter. The Rotaract club helps you get equipped with good leadership development skills, thorough knowledge of the community’s woes and solu�ons, and thereby emerge as a person of great value. The Rotaract club is the youth wing of Rotary Interna�onal. THE FOUR WAY TEST Before performing the projects, the Rotaractors ensure the authen- ticity of the project by applying the Rotary’s famous Four Way Test. The four-Way test, created in 1932 by Rtn. Herbert J. Taylor (who later served as Rotary International President) and was adopted by Rotary in 1943. 1. Is it the TRUTH? 2. Is it FAIR to all concerned? 3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIP? 4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned? 11

Rotaract Clubs organize a variety of projects and ac�vi�es in varying degrees, depending primarily on the interests of the club members. To convene these projects successfully, they conduct mee�ngs. Within the Rotaract program, all projects they do can be classified into four types of ac�vi�es. They are referred to as the four avenues of service. NOTABLE PROJECTS KAAKUM KARUVI \"Give your old clothes a second life.\" Doing a good deed like dona�ng your old clothes will make you feel good because you’re doing something for a worthy cause. Here we collected old clothes and donated them to the Li�le Hearts Hostel located in Dharmapuri. The joy of giving is indescribable because it takes courage to give some- thing from your life to others. The small smile on others' faces caused by us will give a sa�sfac�on which we can't describe in words. We were super happy about doing this event. SALUTE INDIA “There is no joy in possession without sharing.” A gi� is the most beau�ful way to thank someone, apologize, show how we feel, or make friends with someone. On the occasion of Republic Day, we, The Rotaract Club of GCT Coimbatore was so much elated in comple�ng the event \"SALUTE INDIA-Let's celebrate the Pride\". Here we distributed some sports accessories as a token of love to the children inthe Families for Children orphanage. They felt so happy in receiving the things which will be very helpful for them to spend their free �me in playing. 13

To guide you in the process of setting and tracking your goals, we The Rotaract Club of GCT Coimbatore organized an event \"GUIDE TO GOAL-A webinar on setting and tracking goals. The session was handled by the District Trainer, Rtr. PP. Vijay Vignesh V. This session mo- tivated the participants to follow their goals without letting the shine to wear off. It boosted our confidence to vanquish our defeats. \"Design is the intermediary between informa- tion and understanding.\" PIXELLENCE There’s an art to good editing. We the Rotaract Club of GCT Coimbatore was super happy in completing the editorial workshop \"PIXELLENCE- A poster design- ing workshop\". It is a 2 days workshop. On the first day, we taught the basic techniques in poster design- ing using adobe photoshop. We also insisted on some tips in content writing. We also asked them to design a poster for the event idea given. On the 2nd day, we designed a poster by teaching them simulta- neously and also rectified the mistakes for the post- ers we asked them to do.This helped the juniors to make the posters for the upcoming events on their own. The workshop really went well and helped them to learn the techniques in photoshop. 14

With panic written all over her face, she slowly reached out her hand to touch the mysterious sculpture. Only then she noticed that the man had large velvet wings with claws. She was stunned and her brain froze. The man's eyes remain closed even after he was manumitted. Suddenly, her brain ordered her to scream. When she opened her mouth, only air came out and she couldn't speak. She couldn't hear her voice but she could hear everything around her. Tears rolled down her cheeks, she tried to scream harder, bending her neck down, panicking. \"Hey Sira\", the man called her. She froze wide-eyed looking at him. Within a second the wings vanished. He was covered like a normal human in 21st-century clothings. And to the top of it, he knows her name. She thought that he was going to kill her. Now when her brain told her to run, she couldn't move her legs. Her face had sweat droplets out of fear. Her eyes turned red. He moved closer and locked her eyes with his. His eyes gave out an energy which is invisible to naked eyes. Not even a second later, she smirked back like she already know him. He hypnotized her already. \"Shall I?\" Silas asked her. She tilted her neck with a smile. He smiled back and moved closer. He moved her hair to the side and injected his fangs into her neck. He fed himself to survive, once again on this earth as a vampire. Once he was done with his meal which he had after 1000 years, he flew away, before she could open her eyes. 15
