I am happy to note that the alumni association of Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College has been conducting webinars every Sunday for the last two years. Organizing such weekly events sustaining the interest level is a very tough task. The topics of varied interests shared by our alumni from across the globe, from different time zone is really commendable. My sincere wishes and hearty congratulations to every member Thiru. Alamelu It is indeed a moment of great pleasure to be part of the event Patron & Principal organized by the alumni association, celebrating two yearlong weekly webinar series. For the past 104 weeks every Sunday, Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College sharp at 6 pm IST alumni of SREC from different walks of life shared their experiences. The talks were from the different domains from Organic Farming to Flying cars, Electric Vehicles and Real Estate. The book reviews and fun games have really helped boosting our energy and keeping us positive. My hearty congratulations to all the members for this great effort during the pandemic.

Fellow SREC ians, This is a happy moment for celebrating the success of the 104th week of our webinar talk series. The year 2020 has become a milestone - an unforgettable year globally. Entire world was dreaming of flying cars but unfortunately even the planes could not fly. Everything became stand still. Even our association activities were idle. The event of weekly webinar was just started to have some activity moving with the association and to strengthen the bonding amongst us. This event of Webinar talk series was started on 7th June 2020 as a weekly meeting. It was planned to conduct around 8 to 10 webinars until the lockdown opens up. By the overwhelming response from our friends this event crossed the initial target of 2 months and reached 24 months by now. Even after the lockdown was over our webinar series continued and now sailing through this second lockdown. Though we have fixed the time as 6.00 pm IST on a Sunday evening we had participants from all over the world. For few, it was Sunday early morning and for few it was Sunday late night. But the bonding of SREC made them attend the event. Now for us all it has become a weekly schedule to be ready for the webinar on Sunday 6.00 p.m. All our speakers were really interested in sharing their thoughts on the topics that they opted for. A wide range of topics such as Business, Health, Education, Finance, Agriculture, Food, Cyber security, R&D, Entertainment, Realestate etc. were discussed. We wish to thank our principal madam who has motivated us in starting and continuing this webinar series. She has attended almost all the events as a support to this webinar session. Also her interaction with our alumni has brought the closeness between the alumni and the college. Some of the first time attendees really felt proud of the activities of the college and by the alumni association. We were extremely happy because of the support of the faculty members who were ready to spare their Sunday times in participating and interacting with our alumni and recalling the memories. It was indeed a happy moment for the speakers to share their thoughts to the faculty members who has brought them to this level. The first session was by Mr. Naveen Krishnamurthy who not only delivered the first webinar talk but also attended most of the event. And he is the only proud participant to keep the video on for all the meetings. Though this event was started as a webinar talk series Mrs. Padmashree from Singapore made it interesting by adding few activity for the kids after the session. Her activities includes games, riddle, tongue twister, Thirukkural, some activities that added values towards maths, tamil and science in the kids language. The kids were eagerly waiting for the Sunday evenings to attend the KIDS TIME after our webinar. In the last few meetings Mr. Shameer has added a 2 min book review before the start of the webinar. He gave a glimpse of the book that he has read recently and motivates others in reading books. There were few more people who were not in the forefront but have contributed in the success of this event. Mrs. YuvaKirithika has worked out all the back papers from communication till uploading the videos on the social media. Also she would be the first member to start the meeting and the last to close the meeting. Mr. Robin Johny was the man behind every single digital activity that was needed in promoting this event. Hardly few knew his work behind the scene but without him we would not have got the beautiful flyers that has conveyed the information to us all. We once again thank all the speakers, participants and others who have made these events as success.
