Technical Data Product: #9147 GutterGuard® PRODUCT INSTALLATION PACKAGING NOTE 5 gallon U.S. Remove and replace any existing, non-paintable 3 gallon U.S. silicone caulks. Store GutterGuard® so that it stays above 65° F to prevent congealing. Contact Topps COVERAGE RATE if congealing occurs for recommendations. Product 2 gallons per 100 ft2 will not freeze. Stable to light precipitation in 2 hrs at 70° or warmer. DRY TIME (Air dry @ 77° F/50% Rel. Humidity) CLEAN-UP Moisture resistance <4 hrs Use Mineral Spirits or Stoddard Solvent. Dry time is greatly affected by temperature, humidity, and airflow. SURFACE PREPARATION Surface must be totally clean, dry, and free of any oils, chalking, failing prior coatings, bitumen, vegetation and foreign matter. Use wire brush or apply Topps® RustArrestor™ to remove and treat rust, and rinse. Tighten all fasteners. Replace any worn, missing, or stripped fasteners as needed. Perforated areas; replace as needed. Otherwise, using aluminum flashing material, fit a new piece flush and at least 3\" beyond the repair area. Secure using GutterGuard® or Polyprene® beneath the panel and any seam repairs. Spread GutterGuard® or Polyprene® along all edges, using rubber glove. APPLICATION Begin by placing a heavy coat at all joints, fasteners, and other areas that can benefit from a heavier build up of rubber. Lay PolyCore™ polyester mesh into wet GutterGuard® or Polyprene® cement at seams as needed and coat heavily so that the fabric and all edges disappear. Afterwards, flow GutterGuard on using a firm paint brush. Begin on the sides with a heavy coat and move towards the trough, working down the length of gutter with a good heavy coat. The result should be a continuous, seamless, fully bonded layer of rubber with more material covering the pan of the gutter. Cover at a rate of 2 gallons per 100 square feet. A second coat may be applied after cured, if desired.
