Devotion Week 4: 28th February 2021 Theme: Hiding the treasure of God’s Word Hymn: I Have Hidden Your Word in My Heart https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4MTyHxR3G_4 CHORUS: I Have Hidden Your Word in My Heart, That I might not sin against you (2x) Just like the flowers that grow, come from the seeds that we sow I will plant your Word inside me, It will grow to help and guide me through CHORUS: I Have Hidden Your Word in My Heart, That I might not sin against you (2x) I face a choice every day, about what I do and I say I will always know what’s right ‘Cause I will have your Word to light my way CHORUS: I Have Hidden Your Word in My Heart, That I might not sin against you (4x) Psalm 119: 11(NIV) “ I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.’ When you have a treasure, you hide it because it is so valuable. There is nothing more precious than God’s Word and you must treasure it and let it penetrate deep in your heart so it’s easily accessible, always with you as you carry it with you everywhere you go. Because hiding God’s Word in our hearts is what keeps us from sinning. It is SIN that we are constantly struggling with. It is SIN that cause us to go the wrong way and mess up our lives. When we meet God’s Word with our faith, God will give us strength to overcome our weaknesses. Reflection: • How do you go about hiding God’s Word in your heart? • Why should I do it? • When you look back, where have you seen changes in your life? Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your precious Word. Help us to treasure your Word and store it deep in our hearts where it is easily accessible and with us at all times so that we might not sin against you. Give us the grace to love your Word more and more every day, we pray in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen. 8

Phone/WhatsApp/Signal: 0407515103 Email: [email protected] COURSE DESCRIPTION: The history of the Church is the continuing saga of God's dealing with humanity and the world. Did the Church do any better than the Israelites of the Old Testament? What can we learn about the relationship between the Church and God, and between the Church and the world? How did the church deal with internal problems like false teaching and doctrines? How did the Church deal with external threats, such as persecutions from unsympathetic rulers and other religious extremism? What mistakes did the Church make in the past and how might knowing them help the Church today to avoid the same pitfalls? This module will briefly cover the history of the Church from Pentecost to modern day times.
