Chapter 1 Andi’s family There are two siblings name Andi and Bruce. Andi is Bruce's older sister, they are orphans. They lived with Carl and Lois. Andi and Bruce have a dog name Friday, a stray dog. The little white is smart and always hungry. One day Andi walked into a shop. Andi has a box with a picture of a phone on it. She looked at the box and smiled. Because there is no phone in the box there are only stones. She tried to sell it to the shopkeeper but she was rejected. But another man in the shop followed her out. And bought a phone for 20 dollars. Andi gave him the box and ran. She found Bruce at the corner of street. Bruce is so happy now that they have money to buy food for Friday. Andi and Bruce found Friday in the street. He hugged Friday and gave him a hamburger. Suddenly Andi raised her head, there was a policeman and the man she sold the box in front of them. He looked very angry. 1

Bernie drove Andi and Bruce from the police station to Carl and Lois’s flat. Bernie was the man who was looking home for Andi and Bruce. They were trying to get away from to Carl and Lois. Bernie said, I can't keep you together anymore. But they want to live together and a new home. They need a house for Friday too. Andi and Bruce stopped in front of the flat's door. Andi opened the door. Lois shouted, you're late Carl and Lois, they were a band. They want to be pop stars. Lois started shouting to the music again. Andi and Bruce run up to the bedroom and Bruce said wow, they're worse than before. There was a small bark of Friday outside the window. They are very tired tonight. Bruce went to sleep quickly. And hugged Friday in his arms. 2

Chapter 2 The old hotel The next morning, Friday smelled the smell of sausages and tried to figure out where the sausages were and went to the kitchen. Andi and Bruce saw him and helped to get Louie's attention because Friday was behind her. Friday was eating sausage. Bruce quickly carried Friday to his bedroom. He told Friday not to go to the kitchen again. Bruce puts Friday out of the window. Carl and Lois's flat is on the 5th floor. Bruce invents a box so that Friday can went down to the street. Friday went downstairs. He met with the animal control man. Friday was captured. 3

Andi and Bruce go to the pet shop. Andi met a man name Dave, he works there. Andi asked do you see this dog. His name’s Friday. Dave looks at the picture and said, that's a funny name. Dave said maybe it was taken. There are many dogs in pound. The animal control man had a hard face and his eyes were cold. Do you want your dog? he asked. Bring your parents. Andi took her money out of her bag and put it on the table. The man smiled. And he agreed to take the dog back. They walked home with Friday through the dark streets. It was late now and there weren’t many people on the street. They were outside an old, empty hotel. Suddenly Friday heard something and ran through the darkness into the hotel. 4

Andi and Bruce followed Friday to the hotel. The hotel is old and dirty but it's very big. Bruce asked did you hear that sound? Someone’s here! They both looked towards the sound. Look at that, Bruce said, there's a very big dog under the stairs. And another one was very small. She sat between the legs of a big dog. Friday looks like this hotel. The three dogs ran up the stairs. Andi and Bruce followed them. Chapter 3 Friday’s new friends All three dogs jumped onto the large bed. And they sleep. He named the big dog Lenny and the little dog Georgia. And the next morning there was a loud howling. So, they ran to the hotel. In the bedroom Lenny sat in front of the window and howling loudly because he couldn’t see anything. 5

Andi opened the curtain and Lenny stopped howling. He was happy to see the sky. Andi went to the pet shop to buy more dog food. Dave was surprised that’s a lot of food for one dog! Andi smiled. This is for three dogs. She lied to Dave that her parents liked dogs. And gave a home to street dogs. She didn't talk about Carl and Lois. Dave said there were three dogs in the back of the room. They all need a home too. Can you take them? I don't want to send them to pound. 6

At the hotel, Bruce found a big red book. It is a hotel and has many names of people in it. Bruce wrote Friday's name on it. He then looked over to Andi and Dave. We have a big problem. And suddenly a young girl came through the door. Her name is Heather she works at a pet shop too. She wants to help them too. Chapter 4 The hotel for dogs Andi and Bruce and new friends clean the hotel. They feed the dogs and take them for a walk. They were very tired. But the dogs weren’t. Bruce went to the table and looked for the paper. He had an idea to make a machine. It’s a ball throwing machine. Then he began to build a variety of machines for dogs. 7

Bruce said, this hotel is big. And there are many dogs in the streets. Bruce listened to the radio he could hear the animal control man. He called Dave and told Dave there was a dog on 6th street. When the animal control arrived there, the dog wasn’t there. Because all the dogs are in the hotel. Life was busy for Andi and Bruce now. They didn't have time to think about their problems with Carl and Lois. They were very surprised when Bernie wanted to talk to them. Bernie said I have good news to tell you. I have a lovely and warm family for you. Andi and Bruce said, that's great. Bernie said, and it's not far from here. Only 3 hours. Andi stopped smiling. They told we don’t want to move right now. 8

I don't understand Bernie said. You hate Carl and Lois. Andi and Bruce walked back to the hotel. We wanted to leave Carl and Lois but now the hotel is our family. Chapter 5 A terrible night Andi is excited. Dave wanted her to go to a party with him. She found a dress in a hotel. It's a good party. She liked Dave. He was kind and good-looking. But he still didn't know about her family. Then something bad happened. A man smiled at her and said that she was near his house. You live with Carl and Lois. No, I don’t! she said loudly. 9

Dave looked at her. What was the problem. Andi turned quickly. But someone behind her had a drink, she didn't see him. The drink spilled on to the floor and over her dress. Andi cried and ran out of the room. Bruce also had a big problem. Lois found some of her things in Bruce's bag. He used a lot of things from the flat to build his machines. Lois was very angry She is calling the police. Friday had the problem too. Because the machine isn’t working. All the dogs were hungry but had no food. They ran into the kitchen and opened all the boxes. Bruce heard the loud barking and howling. While Lois was calling the police. 10

Bruce quickly left the flat and ran to the hotel. His machines were on the floor. The dogs were all over the hotel. Andi came to the door and looked around. Then they heard the police car. They find the dogs! and get them in one room. They sat in the bedroom The policeman came to see them. Friday was arrested again. They had a big problem this time. Andi looked at Bernie. Please help us. This time I can't help, Andi. Bernie was sad. He loved Andi and Bruce but it was too late. Carl and Lois were very angry. They didn't want them in the flat. You’re going to different homes. Friday tried to get out of pound to find Dave. Chapter 6 Follow the van! Andi was in a home for girls. She was very sad. But then she heard bark. She went to the window and saw Dave and Friday! Dave told her. We're going to help the other dogs. Then we will take them to other cities. They don't kill them there. Let's find Bruce! 11

Bernie went into hotel. He looked around. Then he found the red book. He opened it and started reading. Bernie was quiet. Now he understood. Dave stopped his van outside the pound. Heather lied that there was a fire. When the animal control man came out, Andi, Bruce and Friday went in. They opened the door and all the dogs ran out. The dog smelled sausage and ran after the van. Chapter 7 A new family Dave drove through town. The dog came too. People watched and laughed. They took photos of the dogs. Suddenly Friday turned right. He went to another street. The other dogs followed him. Bruce said, he's going back to the hotel. Everyone followed them and eventually everyone was at the hotel. 12

The animal control man is going to take all the dogs to the pound. Stop! Andi said they’re ours. They’re our family. The animal control man laughed. Take these children out of here! he said to a policeman. Stop! everyone was quiet. It was Bernie. He had the red book in his hand. I know these kids were wrong but they tried to help. They saved these dogs. The animal control man laughed again. Bernie looked at him coldly. 13

Bernie opened the red book. He called Madison! A small dog stood on the stairs. And it sat down by Bernie and looked at all the people. Bernie called all the dogs by the names written in the book, all the dogs sat on the stairs. These dogs aren't dirty, he told to the people in the hotel. This hotel is a home and family for these dogs. The policeman looked at Bernie and looked at all the people in hotel. The policeman said, they can stay, everyone is happy. They thank you, Bernie. Bernie and his wife eventually adopted Andi and Bruce. Now they have everything, family, Friday, and the hotel for dogs! The hotel was renovated. In the hotel there are various facilities for dogs. And anyone who wants a new dog to adopt, they can find one here in this hotel. And there's a Carl and Lois band too. 14
