MODEL UNITED NATIONS (MUN) CLUB MUN club conducted a session on 25th August 2021 with the objectives: 1. To create the “LEADERS OF TOMORROW” 2. Discussion on Case studies: a. A case study on Nepal b. A closer look at India and its concerns c. Climate change Students came up with the case study of some of the common issues like: • Climate and its effect on the world in general • The several issues concerning India • A case study on India neighbour, Nepal When it comes to issues like climate change, we should all act as global citizens and work together. The MUN members articulated their thoughts very well. It was observed that many of them are capable of becoming tomorrow’s leaders.
GUITAR CLUB Another session of Guitar Club was conducted on 4th August. Kids were taught about guitar posture and how to hold the plectrum step by step and taught about down stroke and up stroke. With using up and down stroke gave open string exercises ascending and descending and with alternate open string picking.
GUITAR CLUB The activity which was conducted on 18th August during Guitar club. Kids were taught about diatonic notes and chromatic notes. Diatonic notes are the basic notes in music which has 7 basic notes are pitches like the seven first alphabets in English A B C D E F G The chromatic notes are the 12 tone scale in music with 12 pitches in sequential order like A A# B C C# D D# E F F# G G# The chromatic notes can start from any of the 12 tones. With each session, the students are learning newer concepts of guitar and. Learning music is therapeutic and students are enjoying the sessions a lot.
HOME ECONOMICS CLUB The activity which was conducted on 4th August during Home economics club ,Good and healthy habits followed from a young age makes all the difference in one’s life. The 3rd session of Home Economics club was all about ,‘Healthy Habits.’ This topic was taken up due to the current pandemic situation and to instill good and healthy habits through fun learning. If we follow healthy habits in our day-to-day life ,it surely gives positive effect on our mind and body. Different healthy habits were discussed with the students. They were excited to share the habits they were following everyday. They also shared about the habits which their family members too, were following. With great enthusiasm they participated in the poster making activity. They had to make a poster with all the healthy habits they were following and the ones they wanted to follow and make it a part of their daily routine. They came up with creative ideas which depicted the habits beautifully. They were told to put it up in their room, so they could be reminded of the same, to stay healthy and be safe.
HOME ECONOMICS CLUB Festivals are an important part of our Indian culture. The home economics session, held on 18th August, stressed on the importance of the different festivals celebrated in different parts of our country. Students were told about why Raksha Bandhan is celebrated and they were also shown an animated video of the story. The video followed with the most exciting part of the session which was Rakhi making. Ms. Ranjitha was invited to take up the Rakhi making session for the students. She taught the students to make the Rakhi with earbuds and bhindis. It was a very innovative and creative idea to make Rakhi with earbuds. Students used their own creativity to make some beautiful Rakhi's. Enthusiastic participation by the students was a proof that it was a fun filled session.
LITTLE CHEF CLUB ‘A recipe has no soul . You, as the cook, must bring Soul to the recipe – Thomas Keller’ The Little Chef’s club conducted on 4th August ‘ Roti Basket’ Was given importance in making roti and to know more about the fibre rich food. Through the power point presentation the name given to roti in different states in India were discussed. Students were told about the importance of consuming fibre rich food which is loaded with carbohydrates. In the kinetics activity students enjoyed making the atta flour and patted it round ,with the help of parents they made rotis. Children were excited to do it by themselves.
LITTLE CHEF CLUB ‘Have a colourful plate. I make a spinach salad with things like blueberries, apples and carrots. – Kristen Bell’ The Little Chef’s club conducted on 18th August ‘ “7- inch patchwork, importance of green leafy vegetables, the nutrients and minerals present in other vegetables and fruits were told to students. Students made perfect salad with carrots, potatoes, broccoli, lettuce etc. Children enjoyed making a healthy, colourful and delicious bowl of salad from scratch. As a surprise element making of fruit salad was shown to children. With the right quantity and type of fruits we made a delicious fruit salad. Students enjoyed the session thoroughly.
