Last heard he has married and settled down in Vancouver, Canada. Left SCI in 1979 after obtaining second mate's license and joined a foreign company- Wallems. Thereafter, continued sailing in foreign companies namely Barber Ship Management / Wilhelmsen, Oslo, Japanese company - MMS,Tokyo and Frontline Tankers, Norway. Obtained Master's (F.G) from U.K. After completing adequate sailing experience, obtained my command as captain in 1991 with Barbers Oslo, which was also the year that I joined the Rotary Club of Cochin Harbour. I was also a free mason for a few years. Although had sailing experience on various types of vessels, decided to specialise on oil tankers in the latter part of my sea-going career. Have sailed on various product and crude oil tankers but mainly sailed on vlcc's ( very large crude oil tankers) and ulcc's (ultra large crude oil tankers) so much so that none of my ships have ever called any Indian port since 1979 till my quitting sailing in 2017.

After quitting sailing, worked as a visiting professor - teaching nautical science subjects at the Indian Maritime University, Kochi from 2017 to 2019. During the final year, got selected for the Coveted Indian Military Academy, which I joined in June 1973 & passed out in June 1975 . Got commissioned into 1st Garhwal Rifles (Mechanised). Worked as a GM with a BIRLAS Company at Kalyan for about 2 years from Dec'12 to '14 & since then have been leading a relaxed retired life & enjoying Golf. Got married in 1984 to my wife, Sarita .
