Guide Sheet Signs ในชีวิตประจาวันนักเรยี นอาจพบป้ายประกาศได้ทั่วไปตามสถานที่ต่างๆ เช่น ถนนหนทาง ยานพาหนะ อาคารบ้านเรือน ห้างร้าน สานักงาน โรงแรม สถานีรถประจาทาง เป็นต้น แม้ป้าย ประกาศส่วนใหญ่ในประเทศไทยจะเขียนเป็นภาษาไทยและอาจมีการใช้เคร่ืองหมายและ/หรือ สัญลักษณ์ท่ีมีความหมายเฉพาะ และเป็นท่ีเข้าใจเป็นสากล การฝึกสังเกต เรียนรู้ และทา ความคุ้นเคยกับป้ายประกาศภาษาอังกฤษย่อมช่วยให้นักเรียนสามารถเข้าใจความหมายของป้าย ประกาศเหล่าน้ันได้ถูกต้องแม่นยามากขึ้น โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งในเมืองพัทยานักเรียนจะเห็นป้าย ประกาศต่างๆ เป็นภาษาองั กฤษเป็นจานวนมาก การอ่านป้ายประกาศเพื่อความเข้าใจและการปฏิบัติตามที่ถูกต้อง จึงจาเป็นต้องทราบ สญั ลักษณ์ทใ่ี ช้ในป้ายประกาศ ประเภทของป้ายประกาศ ความหมาย รูปร่าง สี และการใช้งาน ป้ายประกาศแต่ละป้ายอาจมีจุดประสงค์มากกว่าหน่ึงอย่างซ่ึงเป็นการยากที่จะแบ่งแยก ออกจากกันอย่างชัดเจนได้ แต่ท่ีสาคัญคือ การอ่านเพ่ือเข้าใจเนื้อหาสาระของป้ายประกาศและ ปฏิบตั ติ ามไดอ้ ยา่ งถูกต้องในท่นี จ้ี ึงแบง่ ป้ายประกาศตามจุดประสงค์หลกั และการใชง้ านออกเปน็ 5 ประเภท ดงั น้ี 1.
