about Beach Upcyling is a story about three kids eager to make a change. They set out to inspire and set up an example to follow by leading the way and cleaning their local beach. Written by: Omnia Halawani Illustrated by: Aman Darwish

Fouad and Fay are on the with their families and fr

e beach riends.

Towards the end of the day , they spot Yousuf collecting the garbage and cleaning up. Foua That’s a lot Fay: ?Hi, can we help you

You suf: ad: Of course! The more the merrier. t of tra sh!

Some people litter the sea. Something they can’t directly see. They leave trash on sand. But that doesn’t stway ohn laendr. e does th

he tra sh go...?

When the wind blows and the tide grows, to the sea, every piece of rubbish goes. A balloon, some glass, stubs, and a can. But let me tell you about beach cleaning; why I began

I was once on boat with my sister and a friend. We saw a little dolphin with a string tied to its end.

hoot hoot And a seagull fishing merrily with a hoot; it spotted what it thought was a piece of food.

It dove down fast to catch the fish. But what she saw wa s actually ju st rubbi sh.

Sea turtles think pla stic bags are yummy jelly f i sh. But in reality, they’re far from their favorite dish. They swallow them hungrily, so quick, Then the plastic bags make them fall very sick.

I love animals and like to see them free.

I know you love them too and for sure would agree!. Playful dolphins. Amazing whales. Cute little turtles. And fishes with colorful scales.

So I clean the beach and try to teach, little kids like you what you can do. Pla stic i s one of the worst tra sh types; especially bags, nets, straws and pipes. You can always avoid single use. It is one of the best tactics to reduce.

If you have to u se pla stic, make sure to recycle. Breaking down pla stic i s such a long cycle.

So kids, start taking steps even if small. Don’t leave any trash behind; it’s important to be kind; not only to people but also to our planet. Pick up what you can and make it a habit. The planet will appreciate it all.
