PLANT SYSTEMS ENGINEERING Solids Recovery Project Case Studies Project: Pelletizing Plant Client: Sustainable Resources Group Project Location: Freehold, NJ Material: Spent Coffee Grounds Services: Engineering Design Constructed Value: $3M A major east coast freeze-dried coffee producer contracted with our client to remove their spent, wet coffee grounds which were dried, stored and pelletized for fuel. Our scope included preliminary designs to repurpose the building to handle combustible dusts, design material handling and process systems from receiving the coffee grounds through the fluid bed drying system, storage and pelletizing and then bulk load out. Designs included all dust collection and explosion protection systems. Retrofit project at existing plant site with significant interface into existing equipment. OSHA Plant. Project: Pelletizing Mineral Fines Client: Confidential Project Location: Pennsylvania Material: Mineral Fines and Fertilizer Services: Engineering, Construction Services Constructed Value: $5M Waste fines from mineral processing facilities can be well suited to blend with binders and fertilizers and other materials to create soil amendments. Pelletizing them enables dust free broad cast spreading in fields. For this project, a scaled down version of a full production facility has enabled the client to develop the product by experimenting with different materials and methods. Our scope of work included final equipment layouts and detailed designs of all plant operations including piping, dust collection, pneumatic conveying, size reduction and mechanical conveying. Our services continued as we provided on site construction services. THE PLANT SYSTEMS GROUP, INC. 507 N. York St., Suite 2A Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 717-795-9122 717-795-9525 Fax

PLANT SYSTEMS ENGINEERING Project: Pelletizing Mineral Fines Client: Confidential Project Location: Pennsylvania Material: Mineral Fines and Fertilizer Services: Front End Engineering Constructed Value: $40M (projected) Starting with a block process diagram, we shepherded the complete 100 TPH plant design from concepts to detailed general arrangements suitable for solicitation of design-build proposals from contractors. Scope included site work considerations, power analysis, evaluation of process flow options. Deliverables also included detailed P&ID’s, power single lines and functional descriptions. Project: Magnetic Separation Client: Valley Proteins Project Location: Pennsylvania Material: Chicken Meal Services: Engineering Design Constructed Value: $3M Our scope included general arrangement designs of rare earth magnet systems to capture tramp metal from protein meal being delivered from poultry farms to protein rendering operation in Lancaster County, PA. System was designed to use gravity as transport mode and utilized Eriez Rare Earth Drum Separators to remove the tramp metal before further processing at the rendering facility. Retrofit project at existing plant site with significant interface into existing equipment. OSHA Plant. THE PLANT SYSTEMS GROUP, INC. 507 N.
