ROAD AND STREETWORKS CONT Additional Information Training courses for NRSWA will cover one or more units dependent on requirements to provide delegates with the skills and knowledge to perform duties to the standards prescribed by City & Guilds in-line with the NRSW Act 1991, in order to safeguard themselves and others. There are 9 units for Operatives and 8 for Supervisors. A separate certificate is issued for each. In addition, various combinations of the units will lead to a full Street Works qualification, for which a Street Works Qualification Register (SWQR) Card will be awarded. Delegates should provide a passport photograph on the day of training for production of SWQR Cards. Delegates should inform their trainer if they have any serious health issues, physical problems, special considerations or are taking any medication, which may create difficulties in undertaking elements of this training course. Courses range from 1 day, up to 5 consecutive days, dependant on the modules that are being taken. Please make sure that you are aware of the course duration ahead of booking your training. ASSESSMENT A high proportion of group exercises with continuous oral and practical assessments, supplemented with video and classroom based tutorials. A NRSWA training group may contain a mix of both Operatives and Supervisors. Sessions will be varied within the overall framework to allow the most effective development of the candidate. CERTIFICATION Those who successfully complete the NRSWA course unit(s) will receive a Certificate of Competence which will need to be sent to the SWQR. They will then provide a plastic photo identification card that shows the qualification for each NRSWA unit. This is valid for 5 years.

CPCS RED TRAININED OPERATOR CARD The Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) provides skills cards for the plant sector of the construction and allied industries. It was launched in 2003 and since then over 300,000 cards have been issued across 60 categories of plant and related occupations.
