Members of the local artists’ colony remembered her from her earlier work in the area and recommended her for the month-long show. Fayetteville residents were treated to an exhibit of Frank’s Florida-influenced story quilts when City Center Gallery & Books hung her work last year. Hopefully, “Water Recue” will make its way to Fayetteville soon in another public exhibition of Frank’s work. After all, water rescues are a part of our recent history. OCTOBER 2019 7

Then the idea (second), and Lex Tols came to me: I could make and sell fancy sugar cookies. (fourth) Being a creative person, baking and 28 OCTOBER 2019 decorating seemed like a natural fit for me. It took quite a long time to perfect my sugar cookie recipe, but once I did, I moved on to decorating. It has taken me a lot of practice to get to the skill level I am at now, and I am still learning and evolving. I have had the pleasure of baking cookies for the family of the Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army as well as for birthdays, baby showers, homecomings, promotions, businesses and other celebrations. I am humbled to be part of these special events and to bring some smiles to people I have never met. In the meantime, you can find me teaching cookie decorating classes downtown, making do-it-yourself holiday cookie decorating kits, shopping and eating my way through Fayetteville’s downtown, chasing around my rambunctious child, cooking and of course, baking these loveable cookies.

Cookie Cutter Life products come in all shapes, sizes and designs and are made to order. OCTOBER 2019 29
