PLANO ISD Updated November 2022 for 2023-2024 school year
Now is your chance to have real world experiences and learn skills to prepare you for your future! High school Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses can provide you with an opportunity to discover your interests through course work and Career and Technical Student Organizations. It is time to become life ready with Plano ISD Career and Technical Education. Plano ISD provides opportunities for students through CTE courses to gain knowledge and skills they may use in high school, college, and/or a career after graduation. CTE blends academics and career skills to produce well-rounded, life ready graduates. CTE courses are grouped by career cluster and within each career cluster are a variety of programs of study. Programs of study will provide students with a course sequence that ties to an endorsement and offers a strong vertical alignment between secondary and postsecondary education. The suggested course pathways are intended to provide guidance to students seeking college and career readiness through course content and industry based certifications. As you prepare for the next step in your education and begin to create your four year plan with your counselor, you will have the opportunity to choose a program(s) of study which will help determine the courses you want to take in high school. For more information on programs of study, please refer to the programs of study at a glance document on pages 4-5 or visit www.pisd.edu/cte-programs-of-study.
