awa ken SPRING 2019 Refreshed, restored, completely at ease: It’s a season of new possibilities. At Andrews, a thoroughly modern brand steeped in Canadian heritage, the unparalleled quality and service remain constant, but now, the whole concept of luxury is redefined. Andrews invites you to reimagine your own style ethos for spring: luxe simplicity, dramatic silhouettes, juicy colour, even untamed prints. It’s yours for the exploring. andr e w sc o . c om 3

Being a neonatologist and developmental pediatrician at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Dr. Paige Church has built her wardrobe around adaptable, polished pieces that will take her from the clinic and research to her homebound duties in the P.M. So when she moved to Toronto from the US ten years ago, Andrews was her very first stop. “I was looking for classic, luxurious clothes that I could keep for 10-15 years and I found it there,” she says. “It was easy - there’s no shortage at Andrews.” I was looking for classic luxury clothes DR. PAIGE CHURCH What does style mean to you? “I think the most fundamental element of style is to not waver with what you feel comfortable in. Something may be in style but I might not like it, so I’ll just wait out the season for something that I love. That, to me, is great style.” If you had to choose one style aesthetic, would it be traditional or modern? “Traditional, easy answer. I never want to look at older photos of myself and think, Oh my god, why did I wear that? I like wearing things until they wear out, not until they’re out of style. The boots I wore today I’ve had for ten years. It’s an investment worth making.” How do you incorporate self-care into your everyday life? “I think mindfulness is something we could all do more of. Everyday I walk through the woods on my way home—it’s a moment to re-group and not be thinking of what I need to do. I listen to the brook babbling along, to the trees and get away from all the chaos for 30 seconds. It makes such a difference.” As an internationally celebrated jewellery designer, Rebekah Price understands fashion’s unique ability to be a vehicle of expression, no matter your mood. It’s why she turned to Andrews, a multifaceted style destination for every woman, when launching her namesake label in market almost ten years ago. “It just made so much sense to me that this was the type of environment that would work hand in hand with my designs,” she says of her long-standing relationship with the iconic brand. “You have the idea of evening wear, but you also have the notion of everyday casual wear. You have the versatility—that’s the beautiful thing about working with Andrews.” Versatility- that’s the beautiful thing about working with Andrews REBEKAH PRICE Where do you find inspiration for your collections? “I’m an avid magazine collector. I understand that people like to go online to get their fashion know-how and that’s fine too, but for me, there’s nothing like actually turning the pages and tearing out stories that inspire me. I bring them to the office and say, ‘Okay, this is what’s happening.’” Who is your style icon? “Jane Fonda. It’s her confidence, her consistency—there’s such a longevity to her. When she enters a room, yes, she is dressed to kill, but it’s the way she carries herself. And by the way, that’s true fashion. She proves to me that style and fashion aren’t restrictive to numbers.” What style advice would you give to your daughter? “I would encourage her to follow her intuition— at 14, she has the confidence of a 30-year-old. If something feels right to go forward with it stylistically and if she doesn’t feel confident then every person in that room is going to know it. Don’t worry, because you’re going to kill it, honey, in every single thing that you wear.” IN ProFILE 4 andr e w sc o . c om
