(G)I-idle (G)I-dle  is a South Korean girl group formed by Cube Entertainment in 2018. The group consists of five members: Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi and Shuhua. Originally a sextet, Soojin left the lineup on August 14, 2021.  (G)I-dle debuted on May 2, 2018, with the single “Latata” from their first extended play (EP) I Am. They debuted in Japan under U-Cube[3] with Latata on July 31, 2019.

FORMATION AND PRE-DEBUT AC- ACTIVITIES In an interview with The Star, group leader Soyeon revealed that the name “Idle”came to her when she was composing the “Idle Song”. She suggested it to Cube Entertainment, and the name was finalized after undergoing internal competition However, the name received mixed reactions in South Korea and internationally since (aideul) means “children”, and “idle” in English.refers to someone who avoids work Accordingly, the group was renamed (G)I-dle, with the “I” standing for individuality, the hyphen showing that the name has been divided into two parts,would like to be referred to verbally as “I-dle. DEBUT, RISING POPPULARITY AND COMMER-CIAL SUCCES (G)I-DLE officially released their debut mini-album I am on May 2 with the lead single “LATATA”. Their debut showcase was held at the Blue Square iMarket Hall on the same day as the album’s release.



Biography Minnie born as Nicha Yontararak, is a Thai singer, songwriter, and actress under Cube Entertainment. She is the main vocalist of the South Korean girl group (G)I-DLE. Early life Minnie has loved to play piano since she was young, which was influenced by her mom. She always watched her mom playing the piano, and asked her to teach her how to play it. While in Elementary School, she brought her friend to learn singing with her. She was inspired by Vanessa Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles” and likes it a lot. Af- ter that, whenever her school held events, she would always show up at the stage. She also became a cheerleader, drummer, actress in a stage play, and more. PREDEBUT Minnie attended Wattana Wittaya Academy and studied music at Grammy Vocal Studio in Thailand. She was the cheerleader, drummer, actress in a stage play, and more in her school. She also studied Chinese for four years. On September 2014, she participated in the Cube Star World Audition in Thailand and came to Korea in 2015. On March 23, 2016, Minnie was revealed to the public though Cube trainee official Insta- gram. On November 5, she was featured in Jeon So-yeon performance stage at Unpretty Rapstar 3 concert. In June 2017, she participated in a promotional video for Rising Star Cosmetics along with Song Yuqi and Shuhua, future members of (G)I-DLE.

Biography Soyeon also known as Jeon So Yeon is a South Korean rapper, singer-songwriter, and producer under Cube Entertainment. She is the leader, main rapper, vocalist and center of South Korean girl group (G)I-DLE. Early life Soyeon was born on August 26, 1998 at Samsun hospital. When she was still a toddler, she couldn’t fit in at the daycare, so she ended up being homeschooled. At home, she enjoyed dancing and singing, which became a foundation for her music career. She also enjoyed watching anime, and dreamed of becoming a ninja and a pirate after watching Naruto and One Piece. For period of time, she made sure to carry with her ninja weapons that sold from the stationary store. She entered Kury- ong Elementary School and started studying ballet. She entered and won numerous ballet competitions in her 3rd year of elementary school, but decided to quit ballet to pursue a music career after seeing Big Bang perform. PREDEBUT On August 27, 2020, she reprised her role as League of Legends character Akali in “The Baddest” and “More”, on K/DA’s All Out (EP). Soyeon took part in producing Apink’s Namjoo solo debut song “Bird”, which will be released on September 7. On December 16, it was confirmed that Jeon, Pentagon’s Hui, and AB6IX’s Lee Dae-hwi would be producing songs for the Top 7 competition on Mnet’s audition show CAP-TEEN.



Biography Cho Mi-yeon Miyeon was born on January 31, 1997 in Seodaemun District , Seoul , South Korea . She is the only child in the family. From an early age she showed an interest in singing. Her love for music was inspired by her father. Her parents soon recognized her passion and sent her to music schools to learn different skills, such as violin, guitar, and piano. Personal activities From February to March 2018, Miyeon and Minnie made 4 cover videos on Dingo Music You- tube channel. On October 26, 2018, Miyeon was confirmed to perform at the 2018 League of Legends World Championship Opening Ceremony , alongside Soyeon , Madison Beer , and Jaira Burns. Four singers provided the voiceovers for virtual K-pop girl group K/DA , with Miyeon voicing Ahri, one of the most popular champions in League of Legends . Along with Evelynn voiced by Mad- ison Beer , Ahri is the lead vocalist of the group. Their song “Pop/Stars” went viral on YouTube and topped Billboard ‘s World Digital Songs chart .



Biography Song Yuqi (born September 23, 1999), known mononymously as Yuqi, is a Chinese singer-songwriter and record producer under Cube Entertainment. She is active as a soloist in China and a member of the South Korean girl group (G)I-DLE, which debuted in 2018. In 2019 and 2021, she was one of the co-hosts for the Chinese reality TV show Keep Running, and the main host on KakaoTV reality show Learn Way. Before debut Yuqi attended Beijing 101 Middle School and served as the president of the high school’s Street Dance Club. Joined Cube through the ‘Cube Star Audition October 2014’ which was held in Beijing , China. She was introduced in CUBE TREE on August 23, 2017. Appeared in Rising Legends ‘ CUBE x SOOMPI Promotional Video. She also featured in a short video of Dingo Music. On another occasion she also appeared on Dingo Music performing the Dai dance. Yuqi appeared in the promotional video of Rising Star Cosmetic in June 2017 (with Minnie and Shuhua ) . When asked about their difficult time as a trainee, Yuqi said, “I didn’t have friends at first so it was really hard”. When asked what he wants to be in the future, Yuqi replied, “I’m Chinese , come to Korea alone and train hard... I want to be as good as Song Qian sun- baenim “ (RISING STAR) COSMETICS MODEL).

2018-present: Member of (G)I-DLE On May 2, 2018, Yuqi became a member of (G)I-DLE , the group that debuted with their debut mini-album I Am, with the title track “ Latata “. Biography Shuhua also known as Yeh Shu Hua, is a Taiwanese singer under Cube Entertainment. She is the vocalist, main visual and maknae of the South Korean girl group (G)I-DLE. Early life When she was young, watching actors on the TV made her thought of becoming a celebrity one day. She always told to her family members that she will be definitely on TV one day “If I ever was a star that was on TV, I’d be really happy, I’d be really happy~”. Thinking she was only a child, her family didn’t put that on mind. PREDEBUT In June 2017, she participated in a promotional video for Rising Star Cosmetics along with Yuqi and Minnie, future members of (G)I-DLE. 2018–PRESENT: DEBUT WITH (G)I-DLE On May 2, 2018, Shuhua debuted with (G)I-DLE with their mini-album I am and the title song “LATATA”.



2018: Debut with I Am and release “Hann (Alone)” (G)I-DLE officially released their debut mini-album I Am on May 2 with the single “Latata”. The group’s first performance was held at Blue Square’s iMarket Square on the same day as the album’s release. The stage promotion group officially debuted on Mnet’s music show M Countdown the next day.

(G)I-DLE gained a total of 2.2 million views for the music video “Latata” within 2 days of its release. [35] The mini-album debuted at number 13 on the Gaon Album Chart released on May 10, 2018. [36] I Am also debuted at number 7 and peaked at No. 5 on Billboard’s World Albums Chart on May 9, 2018. [37] “Latata” debuted at number 35 on the Gaon Digital Chart on May 17, 2018. [38] ( G)I-DLE won their first win on music show SBS MTV’s The Show on May 22 within 20 days of their debut.[39] Two days later, on May 24, the group received their second win on Mnet’s music show M Countdown followed by their third win on The Show. A month after their debut, the group debuted on Billboard’s Social 50 Chart at number 36 on June 5.
