For anything be it personal, business, school, a yardstick of measurement is alwaysWhen we plan each academic year, the only thing that we have in mind is what expressed numerically to show growth and a meaningful performance. But for me thisshould we do that is “different”, what should we do to set a higher benchmark for school has not just shown growth but created a culture of excellence, a path set forourselves, what should we do that exposes our students to international events and me to give nothing but the best. We have over the years seen such excellence in ouractivities, and what should be done so that we create global citizens with an enriched learning, competitions we take part in and unique annual day celebrations. Illustration: Krisha Sanghavi (Grade 7D) EURO SCHOOL – A TEN ON TEN PLACE EuroSchool - this prestigious institution, this amazing school that is home to some of my favourite people and places has been running for 10 years now. I may not have been here from the start of this incredible journey – in fact, I’ve hardly been here for four years! But, in the short time I have been a part of this, I have grown to love it. So, I am sharing ten of my favourite spots in the school (in no particular order). • The library I am a bookworm through and through. For me, libraries are a refuge from the outside world when I just need a break. There is nothing I love more than sitting down with some hot chocolate and a good book. There is an amazing range of books, from fact books to thrilling fantasy reads. I love sitting in the corner of the room on a beanbag chair. I give this place a good five stars! • The football field Need a place to release your pent up energy? This is the place to go. I love football, which is why I always look forward to that one fleeting hour of it that we get to play in a week. It’s super fun, but if you cannot stand muck and dirt, there will surely be other sports awaiting you. But if you are like me, come on and we will hopefully see you on the team. • The Taekwondo Room You enter, and the first thing you see is a giant punching bag hanging from the ceiling. If someone has aggravated you to the limit – and I mean THE LIMIT, this is where you should go. Imagine the punching target to be that annoying person and kick and punch on till you feel good. Or until a teacher comes and tells you that you are way too noisy and you need to turn it down. It really is an amazing way to let out your anger without hurting somebody. Hopefully. • The Art room Now, I don’t really like making art, and nor am I great at it, but looking at some good pieces is really cool. If you have an artistic side, and just want to go and spray paint a masterpiece, this is where you want to go. But just make sure you ask for permission before you get started. If you get into trouble for ruining the room, do not say that I gave you this preposterous idea! I believe that our school is filled with talented artists,

The Tantalizing Ten there were many competitions and other opportunities that gave us a chance to display our talent or enhance our prevailingMy first years in Euro school were splendid. I still remember our class teacher waving acumen that aided us in our studies; one way or the other. For me, the Nationalflashcards at us and we reciprocating by writing answers on paper. I am studying in Children’s Science Congress gave me a broader view to science and helped methis school for ten glorious years now .I am in the eighth grade. EuroSchool has comprehend the marvels of science. Moreover, that year’s annual day theme was thealways been the most fun-filled place in my memory. I enjoy school to an extent that, best- it was the Shakespearean play - The Merchant of Venice! It was a superb play, when I am at home, I can’t wait for the day to get over. During times when I was sick, not in original Shakespearean script but a more intelligible one. It was scripted,I used to stubbornly drag myself to school. My attendance was always ticked for choreographed, recorded, organised and directed for the very first time by our ownevery working day of the school year. My first two years (junior and senior kg) went students and ex-students. The play was the highlight of the year. It was also this yearon like this. that I met my music sir and Guru Jude sir who recognised a different aspect in me that I could sing. He brought out that confidence that lacked in me to sing andBut then first standard was a total surprise. Well, literally as it was filled with surprise actually enlightened me about the art of singing. He taught us all the vocal techniquestests conducted on a vast portion but, you can’t blame me. I was new and immature and enhanced our vocal skills. The confidence boosted my morale to an extent that Ito the system of education. But the way, our school makes learning tenfold more participated in our Inter EuroSchool Choir singing called ‘Omaggio ‘ and alsointeresting than we imagined and also, at the same time, ensures that we understand performed solo in various shows.concepts well. The concept was so interesting that I actually developed an interest in politics and the current affairs - an activity, I thought, was so uninteresting. Our interest for literature was backed by competitions where we narrated stories andrecited poems. Ten Years of Education, Ten Years of Illustration: Adit Tewari (Grade 10B) Balanced Schooling, Ten Years of EuroSchool Wow. Ten years have gone by and in each year EuroSchool has done somethingnew and creative, benefiting all the children with its sports equipment, its curriculum, and all the exciting things that the teachers prepare for us so that we understanddifficult concepts easily. They help us understand everything by giving real-lifeexamples that help us relate to the topic at hand. As ten years have passed, I have seen many developments in the school. Childrenare participating in sporting competitions such as volleyball, football, basketball, gymnasium, skating, cycling, swimming etc. Many of them are participating inOlympiads and academic related exams and the biggest change that helps everyonerecognise that we are from EuroSchool is our brand new logo. According to me, itsymbolises “balance” by showing three different shapes making one logo and I lovethis idea.Smart boards are being used for visual based understanding which makes it easierto recollect the concept later. Teachers organise activities, sometimes plays, forchildren to understand the concept as they play the part and understand theimportance of whatever they are enacting. The clubs allotted to us enhance our creative abilities and help us improve our skills.Academic clubs create awareness about the certain topics by way of interesting andengaging techniques that make learning interesting and fun. Non-academic clubshelp us develop our hobby skills and give us opportunities to display our skills in frontof our parents and teachers.Debates, declamations, creative writing competitions help our creative side grow. Theschool is even divided into houses; Mercury, Apollo, Poseidon, Zeus. While workingwith the people of our house we learn lessons like leadership qualities, teamwork andunity. These qualities help us gain house points. The school anthem and the prayermotivate us for the rest of the day. The meditation music makes us energetic for ourday ahead. With EuroSschool, learning has become fun. The tag line “Discover Yourself” is trulyinspires us to uncover our abilities. In all, EuroSchool has done a lot in the past tenyears and will surely continue to do the good work even in its future. Anya Singh Grade 7
