STC students >> God at work HELP!WITH WITH You may be one of those who look back to your time as a student in Sheffield and are thankful to God for the student work at STC Sheffield because you became a Christian here, or grew as a follower of Jesus. YOURWe are asking for PRAYER FINANCE

Over the past years the student ministry at STC Sheffield hasgrown from a handful of faithfulstudents to a thriving community. The Lord has used STC Studentsto change the lives of thousands ofstudents. There is now a dedicated team which oversees thediscipleship and mission of the student church. Ourvision is to see students introduced to Jesus, findbelonging in His church, be equipped to live for andspeak of Jesus, and join us in doing good.

STUDENTSStudents are a vital part of the St Thomas Crookes family. There are currently over60,000 university students in Sheffield, andthis increases every year. The opportunities forthe gospel are huge. Being a student is a uniquetime of life where people are open to exploringbig questions. We are passionate about giving each studentin our great city an opportunity to hear andrespond to the gospel. With this as our vision,we are looking to raise income for an additionalpart-time student worker to work alongside theexisting full time student leader. We are writing to our own STC Student Alumni -all those who have benefitted from the amazingstudent work here during your time in Sheffieldover past years. We are aware that there aremany worthwhile calls on your finances, but, weneed money for this project to increase our work. Can you help?

100 former students giving £20/month(£5/week) would see this happen! We realise for many of you this may be too much at the moment, but even £5/month from 100 STC Alumni would get this project offthe ground! We don’t want to take support from your local church, but wonderif, as a sign of thankfulness for the ministry that you received whilein Sheffield as a student, you might be able to give regularly or as aone-off towards this new venture.

WHAT'S HAPPENINGAT STC ST U D E N TS ?COMMUNITIESOver a hundred students are meeting week byweek to meet friends, eat together, worship& study the Bible. These communities haveexciting visions from homeless outreach andpractical projects to creative arts, as well assimply promoting simple acts of kindness tostudents every day.TRAININGEvery month the student leaders are gatheredand trained in a discipling process calleda huddle. The aim is to develop leadershipcharacter as we let the Bible shape our thinkingand to develop skill as we ask “What is Godsaying and what are we going to do about it?”.

“For me community and being part of a clusterat STC is what makes it family. I’ve loved theexcitement of launching a new cluster with someof my closest friends at church. Sharing lifetogether, keeping accountable and seeing ourmissional community double in size over the pastmonth has been such a joy!” Holly Phipps, 1st Year English Literature student | Sheffield University
