ABILITY IN ACTION Find out what's happening on campus and off SPRING HAS SPRUNG Spring is a time of renewal and rejuvenation as we awaken from a very long, very cold winter. We are revived and inspired to see plants sprout, flowers bloom and feel the sunshine warm our souls. We are excited for participants to plant their favorite garden beds and enjoy the wonderful weather in Savannah. OUT AND ABOUT Have you ever been to Frank W. Spencer Park? It's a hidden gem off the beaten path on the Wilmington River, and it is absolutely beautiful. We had so much fun exploring the area. Check it out! You can pack a picnic, grab your fishing pole, toss out some crab traps, and have a low-country good time. THANK YOU, ARIELLE! Congratulations to Employee of the Month, Arielle. She has such a great attitude and is always willing to do anything to help our participants and coworkers. We are so grateful to have her on the EmployAbility team.

WORKING WITH Every once in a while, we all need that gentle nudge…..ok, sometimes it needs to be a big GRATITUDE kick in the backside. I was given that nudge a couple of weeks ago. I talked to an employee’s father after giving him a facility tour. He was overwhelmed with our incredible work and impressed with the campus. I ignored his first compliment and went straight into our vision for improving the spaces. He reiterated just how impressed he was. And then I realized I was missing his point. We have already created unique purpose-driven spaces! I’ve been so focused on telling people how much better the classrooms should be that I am not showing gratitude for what everyone has done with what we have. Showing gratitude for what we have and the efforts of the staff doesn't mean we shouldn't strive for the remodeling of the campus building. It just means we shouldn't be so focused on 'perfect' that we don't appreciate 'better.' From now on, I'll try and remember this and practice a bit more gratitude for what we have. More important than our space, though, are the people. I am incredibly grateful that I get to work with people that are not only the most talented and caring people I've ever worked with but a group that understands and appreciates our fantastic opportunities. Every day, each of us plays a role in making someone else's life better. We are incredibly grateful to our participants, families, & caregivers for their trust and partnership. Thank you for giving us this opportunity! CONGRATULATIONS, RENE! Welcome to our newest Board Member Rene Marinelli, Corporate Finance Consultant, and former Regional Vice President at RealEstate.com. Rene is an avid community volunteer with organizations like the Leukemia Society, United Way, and Make a Wish. She brings incredible experience and insight into our operations, and we are honored to have her on the board.

50TH ANNIVERSARY We celebrated Rodney's 50th Anniversary at the end of the year! Rodney began attending our services when he was only 12. For 50 years, Rodney has been putting smiles on the faces of every employee, participant, and board member. He is one of the kindest, most genuine people. So, when the time came, we were thrilled to celebrate Rodney’s dedication to his EmployAbility family.
