Exercise: Identifying Topic sentence and Controlling idea from the paragraphs 1. There are several different kinds of classes on college and university campuses. Professors usually teach large formal lectures. Students have to listen and take notes. Then teaching assistants (T.A.S.) lead discussion groups. 5. If you think of the job’s robots could never do, you would probably put doctors and teachers at the top of the list. It’s easy to imagine robot cleaners and factory workers, but some jobs need human connection and creativity. But are we underestimating what robots can do? In some cases, they already perform better than doctors at diagnosing illness. Also, some patients might feel more comfortable sharing personal information with a machine than a person. These include using ALL CAPS and lots of ads that pop up when you click on a link. Also, think about how the story makes you feel. Sure, you can easily take a taxi – if you want to spend hours stuck in traffic jams – but there are two much better ways to get around the city. For the modern part of the city, the Skytrain is a fast, cheap way to travel from the river to the shopping malls and nightlife of Sukhumvit, and the famous Chatuchak street market. Diabetes is a disease in which the body’s ability to produce or respond to the hormone insulin is impaired, resulting in abnormal metabolism of carbohydrates and elevated levels of glucose in the blood. We need to say something about tigers. We need to say a fact or an opinion. If the biggest point we want to make is that they are dangerous, then the main point is they are dangerous.
