Note to teachers & abbreviations Amazing English 1 Companion provides students with everything they need to understand the vocabulary and grammar in Amazing English 1 Student’s Book. For Lessons 1-4 and Skills Building, words and phrases are listed in order of appearance together with their parts of speech and the accurate Greek translation of the word or phrase as it is used in the context of the Student’s Book. The main entries then continue with an example sentence illustrating the head word in context and any level-appropriate derivatives. For some entries, there are special notes that include opposites, synonyms, set expressions, dependent prepositions and so on. After the vocabulary entries, there is a translation of the grammar theory from the corresponding Student’s Book lesson. Following the entries and the grammar for Lessons 1-4 and Skills Building, there are vocabulary and grammar tasks to practise the content of these lessons. Each unit then ends with any new words and phrases arising from the Review and Song, the CLIL and Culture pages as well as from the Episode. At the back of the Companion, there is an irregular verbs list and a complete list of all the words and phrases in the Companion in alphabetical order with their entry numbers. This helps teachers and students locate words and phrases easily, for example, if they want to refer to a word or phrase they learnt in another unit.
