A WILL TO HELP Tonight the Board of Directors of the TEXAS GIRLS’ CHOIR proudly welcomes you to this Concert. We know you will be inspired by the multitude of beautiful little voices. As you sit here tonight watching the girls perform, we want you to realize many of them have been in the choir since they were eight years of age, and some for only a few months. You will detect great character in each. This is one of our most cherished teachings of the Texas Girls’ Choir. Much of this comes through years of involvement in everything we offer, such as public appearances on stages of the great halls of the world, before television cameras, and the ordinary calls made upon the Choir to programs for local events in the metroplex. Choir members live a rigorous schedule, but we feel through discipline, character is born. Our job, as the Board of Directors, is to see that sufficient funds are available to carry on this important work. There are times when it becomes pretty hard to see needs and not have the funds to do what needs to be done. But God has blessed the Choir and will continue to place in the minds and hearts of persons who believe in what we are doing, “A WILL TO HELP.” Excellence of music and the development of a child’s life will continue to be the goal and mission of the TEXAS GIRLS’ CHOIR, ______________________________ our Boards, Staff and all those who give of themselves in this worthwhile endeavor. The Choir’s success is attributed to the many Texans who have a great love for good music and/or a love for little girls. The importance of music reaches beyond the imagination from the standpoint of a nation, state, city, or an individual as to its effectiveness. Each year as the Texas Girls’ Choir develops young girls’ lives, the effectiveness will become apparent to all who come in contact with the Choir. For truly the greatest asset we have in the world to- day… is not gold or silver or reaching a distant planet … but rather, it is a human life, a young life … a little girl. The Founder’s life was changed because she came to know a Higher Being through music. In addition, music taught her discipline, and much happiness was attained. Something good should be shared, and so it is with music through the Texas Girls’ Choir. As you read Shirley Carter Founder this program, perhaps you will realize the purpose of the Choir program and the benefits that Executive Director come to a young girl who is a member.
