It is Fascinating, humbling and proud, these are but some of the reasons we as athletics coaches do what we do. Edenglen’s athletics team started 2020 off with a bang. We participated against extremely competitive schools in Term 1 to expose our athletes to fierce competition and to get their mindset ready as the A-team were about to enter the B-league for the first time. Our athletes never cease to amaze us as they left many spectators wondering where the RED school came from. It was truly wonderful seeing Edenglen athletes, teachers and parents come together to support each other. 18

To date, despite Corona, we have made many eco bricks, we have assisted in community gardens and feeding schemes. We knitted, collected tins for our counselors to feed not only our families, but to reach into the communities around us. We knitted squares for almost 20 blankets. We spread love to the elderly, brought sunshine to our own staff on special days. We had challenges and winners. We had prayer groups and angels looking out for the sad and lonely ones, and on top of all this, we worked hard to be the best Edenglenians we can be. Thank you for taking a lead and being visible. Thank you for our daily, thought through and meaningful prayers and quotes. Thank you for the posters and for asking questions. This virus is new to us all, and we learn from each other. We still have a while to go before we hand over office. Your legacy will be the way you dealt with Corona. You had to adapt, change, plan and plan again, and experiment and pray. It will be thst you just didn't give up. We are super proud of you all and appreciate you. You are certainly a different, yet powerful team. 39

We joined forces with Eden Angels and visited old age homes and worked at soup kitchens. We played at orphanages and made party packs. With the help of Ms Badrudin we partnered with Sipho and assisted at the Thusong youth Centre in Alex. At school we had cup cake sales and organized to spread love on Valentine's day. When I look back at the year, I feel humbled yet happy with a job well done! All the above cannot happen without great team work, therefore Mrs Van Eeden and Badrudin, Ms Maddocks and I thank you for being on our team. 40

On Friday 14 February 2020, learners from grade 10-12 arrived at the school hall looking fabulous. The hall was decorated with red heart balloons and fairy lights, setting a lovely mood for the evening. Everyone had a really super time with ice breaker games, performances and of course good music. Thank you to Mrs Verwey and Mrs Klijnstra for organising the event. 41

In a few hours, enough money was raised to feed some of the families that receive lunch from the school. With the help of Mrs. Naidoo (Deputy Principal) and Ms. Absolom, food parcels were delivered to our students families. Our families are very grateful for the donations made. 42
