Proper handwashing procedures and how to cover coughs and sneezes will also be taught. · Schanen Estates ES and CCISD does not require children or adults to wear a mask, but we do strongly recommend it for the safety of everyone. You will see many of our staff members that do wear a mask regularly. · Desk shields will be placed on each child’s work area and will be on the cafeteria tables. Water: · The water fountains are ONLY bottle filling stations. Each child should bring a bottle with them every day. The school does not have extra water bottles or cups. We encourage you to put your child’s name on the water bottle. Medications: · Please meet with the nurse to drop off medication. Children should NOT have medicine in their pockets or backpacks. Court documents/Custody paperwork: · Please provide the school with all updated court documents that pertain to your children. This is very important in order for us to help keep your children safe. Birthdays: · If your child is having a birthday and you would like to share cupcakes with the class, the items must be store bought and brought in with your child at the beginning of the day. If your child is not able to carry the cupcakes, you can walk them to the door before 7:50 am.
Campus Procedures Morning arrival: · Please drop your child off near the designated entrance for your child’s grade level. See the map on the next pages. · Drop off time is between 7:30 am and 7:50 am. If you have a special circumstance and need to make arrangements for drop off before 7:30 am, please talk to your child’s teacher or contact the Principal via email at [email protected] or Assistant Principal via email at [email protected]. · Pre-K parents may walk children to the end of the ramp near the portables, but may NOT enter the classrooms. · Parents may walk children up to the campus doors at designated grade level areas, but will NOT enter the campus. Afternoon pick-up: · Students will exit the building at their designated pick-up location according to your child’s grade level. See the map on the next pages. · Siblings will meet up with their younger siblings and be picked up at the siblings area in the afternoon. Attendance: · Our school and our district are working towards having an average daily attendance rate of 95% or higher. It is very important that your child attends each and every day, unless they are sick. Please help us work towards meeting our attendance goal. Incentives will be available for students with perfect attendance. Tardies: · School starts at 7:50 am each morning. Students are tardy if they arrive between 7:50 and 8:05 am. We want to encourage all our students to arrive at school before 7:50 am. We will have incentives for our students and parents to encourage fewer tardies. · We know things happen and of course there will be times that a tardy is unavoidable. In that situation, you will need to park your car and bring your child to the front door to sign them in. Please do not drop them off in the parking lot or along the sidewalk to come in alone.
