The Kooyonga Foundation Inc. Annual ReportThe Kooyonga Foundation had an extremely successful year, with record fundraising through a variety of activities. Thankyou to all members who supported our fundraising efforts which included $14k from the annual Foundation Raffle, $30kfrom the Spartan Electrical Kooyonga Foundation Golf Day and numerous individual member donations.The opportunity continues for Club members to contribute and become a member of The Foundation by donating $100 ormore via their annual membership subscription fee payment which has proved to be a positive initiative thus far.The Foundation attracted 12 new members throughout the 2016/17 year, currently standing at 174 members in total.The following table highlights a breakdown of the membership categories which recognise the financial support andcommitment to the Foundation over a member’s lifetime;Membership Contribution Member #Member $100 and above 111Fellow $1,000 and above 41Trustee $5,000 and above 20Companion $25,000 and above 2Benefactor $50,000 and above -The Management Committee encourages all Club members to join the Foundation and support our aims, namely: 1. To promote the game of golf 2. To foster and encourage, by appropriate means, the involvement of young people in the game of golf 3. To promote and support the continued excellence of The Kooyonga Golf Club Inc 4. To act as trustee of any trust or fund established for the purposes of these objects or the objects of The Kooyonga Golf Club IncDuring the year the Management Committee, comprising myself as Chairman, Mr Gary Chenoweth, Mrs Di Bamford, Mrs JillTrenorden, Mr Ross Dillon, Mr Ian Sargent, and ex officio Club Captain, Dr Grant Raymond, or his delegate, held five meetings.The General Manager, Mr Brett Lewis, attends meetings and provides valued input. Additional meetings were associated withthe organisation of the Foundation Golf Day in October 2016 and the inaugural Foundation Twilight & Dinner in February2017.The two Sub Committees to consider and advise on grant applications for The Kooyonga Foundation Project Fundwere amalgamated. Currently, those members of the amalgamated Sub Committee are: Mr Ross Dillon, Mrs Di Bamfordrepresenting the Management Committee, Mr Tim Sennett and Merry Frogley representing the pennant golfers, and SusieMathews and Brett Lewis co-opted if necessary for administrative advice.The minutes of the Tenth AGM of The Kooyonga Foundation Inc. held on Thursday 9 June 2016 were approved at theManagement Committee meeting on 6 July 2016.Mrs Jill Trenorden was nominated and appointed to fill the casual vacancy created by the resignation of Mrs DebbieAlexander, following her election to the General Committee.The opening ceremony for The Kooyonga Foundation Golf Academy was held on Friday 7 October 2016 when we formallyrecognised 15 members who reached the Trustee Membership category along with myself (Walford) and Sue Thyer who arethe first to reach Companion Membership. We also thanked the members and Fellow members for their generous donationsand ongoing support.It has been a major project of the Kooyonga Foundation to support the construction of the new Golf Academy withcontributions totalling $515k. The Foundation has reimbursed Kooyonga $475k during the 12 months to 31 March 2017as reflected in the financial statements. Plans are in place to repay the balance of $40k prior to 31 March 2018. TheFoundation Management Committee is delighted with the design and quality of the building and we have received excellentfeedback from members. Annual Report 2016/17 Page 49

The Spartan Electrical Foundation Golf Day was held on Friday 21 October 2016, raising $30k on the day. Thesuccess of the day is greatly owed to the support of our major, gold and hole sponsors and the many volunteers, supportersand donors of prizes.We have now completed the 2nd year of our 3 year contract with Spartan Electrical as the naming sponsor for ourFoundation Golf Day and look forward to continuing our relationship with them into this final year of the contract andworking towards another successful event.The annual Kooyonga Foundation Lottery continues to be another successful fundraising campaign, this year raisingalmost $14k. Once again we thank the prize donors, those who distributed books and bought tickets and the FoundationCommittee and organisers.A new initiative earlier this year was The Foundation Twilight Dinner held on 9 February with guest speaker Don Pyke.An excellent attendance of over 150 people attended an entertaining evening, with our guest speaker highlighting theevent having achieved a hole-in-one in the golf competition. We would like to thank the evening’s wine sponsor, SerafinoWines and all the donors of the raffle prizes.
