In preparing the financial report, management is responsible for assessing the Club’s ability tocontinue as a going concern, disclosing, as applicable, matters related to going concern and using thegoing concern basis of accounting unless management either intends to liquidate the Club or to ceaseoperations, or has no realistic alternative but to do so.Those charged with governance are responsible for overseeing the Club’s financial reporting process.Auditor’s Responsibilities for the Audit of the Financial ReportOur objectives are to obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial report as a whole isfree from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error, and to issue an auditor’s report thatincludes our opinion. Reasonable assurance is a high level of assurance, but is not a guarantee thatan audit conducted in accordance with the Australian Auditing Standards will always detect a materialmisstatement when it exists. The General Manager, Mr Brett Lewis, attends meetings and provides valued input.The members of the advisory Sub-Committee for grant applications submitted to the The Kooyonga Foundation ProjectFund are: Mr Ross Dillon, Mrs Di Bamford representing the Management Committee, Mr Tim Sennett and Mrs Merry Frogleyrepresenting the pennant golfers, and Susie Matthews and Brett Lewis co-opted if necessary for administrative advice.The minutes of the Eleventh AGM of The Kooyonga Foundation Inc. held on Thursday 8 June 2017, were approved at theManagement Committee meeting on Wednesday 2 August 2017.In the coming year the Foundation will finalise the balance of $40,000 owed to Kooyonga for the capital cost of the buildingof the Foundation Golf Academy. With a growing capital available, the Foundation will continue to support future projectssuch as the clubhouse redevelopment to promote continuing excellence of Kooyonga. A direct project fund will soon bemade available through the Australian Sports Foundation for specific donations to the redevelopment.The Kooyonga Foundation have recently initiated a bequest society for members who share a similar vision for Kooyonga’sfuture. The Foundation would be honoured to welcome you to this special group by leaving a gift to Kooyonga in your Will.A confidential discussion can be arranged at any time with myself or Brett Lewis, General Manager to talk through how yourgift can enable our future planning. The Kooyonga Foundation Inc.Annual ReportFunds raised for the Kooyonga Foundation during 2017/18;$43,024 Raised in the 2017 Spartan Electrical Kooyonga Foundation Golf Day$17,850 Raised through the 2017 Kooyonga Foundation Annual Lottery$6,275 Raised through contributions, ticket pricing and the auction at the Foundation Twilight Dinner & Golf EventThe Foundation Golf Day held in October was again a highly successful event raising over $43,000. Thank you to all thesponsors, donors and participants, the event would not be the success it is without your involvement. This was the final yearof our 3 year contract with naming sponsor Spartan Electrical and we thank them for all their support in showcasing the golfday as our biggest fundraiser for the Foundation. We very much value the relationship we have built with Spartan Electrical andhope to continue this in the future.The second Foundation Twilight Golf and Dinner event with guest speaker Jane Crafter was held on Thursday 8 Februaryprior to the Women’s Australian Open. Over 120 people attended the event, with member Graeme Agars conducting anentertaining Q&A style interview with Jane. Thank you to the wine sponsor of the dinner, Shingleback wines, and to the donorsof the prizes in the raffle. Additional items were provided for the auction by Trevor Herden, Championships Director for theWomen’s Australian Open including a special ‘behind the ropes’ experience.
