Supplications from the Qur’an & Sunnah Supplication 1 ‫اﻟﻠﱠ ُﮭ ﱠم ﯾَﺎ ُﻣﻘَ ِﻠّ َب ا ْﻟﻘُﻠُو ِب ﺛَ ِﺑّ ْت ﻗَ ْﻠ ِﺑﻲ َﻋﻠَﻰ ِدﯾ ِﻧ َك‬ Allahumma Ya muqallibal-quloobi, thabbit qalbi 'ala deenika O Allah, O Overturner of hearts, make my heart firm upon Your religion [Al-Adab Al-Mufrad] Supplication 2 ‫ َو ُﺣ ْﺴ ِﻦ ِﻋﺒَﺎدَﺗِ َﻚ‬،‫ َو ُﺷ ْﻜ ِﺮ َك‬،‫اﻟﻠﱠ ُﮭ ﱠﻢ أَ ِﻋﻨِّﻲ َﻋﻠَﻰ ِذ ْﻛ ِﺮ َك‬ Allahumma a'innee 'alaa thikrika wa shukrika, wa husni 'ibaadatika O Allah, help me remember You, thank You, and worship You in an excellent manner [Ahmad, Abu Dawud, & An-Nasa’i] Supplication 3 ً‫ر ّ ِب ِز ْدﻧِﻲ ِﻋ ْﻠﻤﺎ‬ Rabbi zidni 'ilma My Lord, increase me in knowledge [Taaha:114] An-Noor Al-Mubeen Project 3

Supplications from the Qur’an & Sunnah Supplication 4 ُ‫ وأَ ﱠوﻟَﮫُ وآ ِﺧ َﺮهُ و َﻋﻼﻧِﯿَﺘَﮫُ و ِﺳ ﱠﺮه‬،ُ‫ و ِﺟﻠﱠﮫ‬،ُ‫اﻟﻠﱠ ُﮭ ﱠﻢ ا ْﻏ ِﻔ ْﺮ ﻟﻲ ذَ ْﻧﺒِﻲ ُﻛﻠﱠﮫُ ِدﻗﱠﮫ‬ Allahum-ma’ghfir li thanbi kullahu, diqqahu wa jillahu, wa awwalahu wa aakhirahu wa 'alaaniyatahu wa sirrahu O Allah, forgive all my sins, small and great, first and last, and open and secret [Muslim] Supplication 5 ‫ِ اﻟﱠ ِﺬي ﻻ ﯾَ ُﻀـ ﱡﺮ َﻣ َﻊ ا ْﺳ ِﻤـ ِﮫ َﺷﻲ ٌء ﻓﻲ اﻷ ْر ِض َوﻻ ﻓﻲ اﻟ ﱠﺴ َﻤـﺎ ِء‬V‫ﺑِ ْﺴـ ِﻢ ﱠ‬ ‫َوھـ َﻮ اﻟ ﱠﺴ ِﻤـﯿ ُﻊ اﻟﻌَ ِﻠـﯿﻢ‬ Bismillahi-llathee laa yaduru ma'asmihee shay'un fil ardi wala fi-ssamaa'i wahuwa-ssameeul Aleem In the name of Allah, when Whose name is mentioned nothing on Earth or in Heaven can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing and All-Knowing [Abu Dawud] Supplication 6 ‫(( َوا ْﺣﻠُ ْﻞ ُﻋ ْﻘﺪَةً ِّﻣﻦ‬2286))‫ ِّﺴ( ْﺮﯾَ ْﻔ ِﻟﻘَ ُﮭﻲﻮأَا ْﻣﻗَِ ْﺮﻮ ِﻟيﻲ‬2َ‫وﯾ‬7َ )(2‫ﻲ‬5ِ‫َر ّ ِب ا ْﺷ َﺮ ْح ِﻟﻲ َﺻ ْﺪ ِر ِﻟّي َﺴ)ﺎﻧ‬ Rabbi-shrah li sadree (25) Wa yassir li amree (26) wahlul uqdatan min lisaani (27) yafkahu kawlee (28) O my Lord! Open for me my chest (25) And ease my task for me (26) And loosen the knot from my tongue (27) That they understand my speech (28) [Taaha: 25-28] An-Noor Al-Mubeen Project 4

Supplications from the Qur’an & Sunnah Supplication 7 ‫اﻟﻠﮭﻢ ا ْھ ِﺪﻧِﻲ و َﺳ ِﺪّ ْدﻧِﻲ‬ Allahumma-hdinee wa saddidnee O Allah, guide me and keep me steadfast on the right path [Muslim] Supplication 8 ‫َرﺑﱠﻨَﺎ َھ ْﺐ ﻟَﻨَﺎ ِﻣ ْﻦ أَ ْز َوا ِﺟﻨَﺎ َوذُ ِّرﯾﱠﺎﺗِﻨَﺎ ﻗُ ﱠﺮةَ أَ ْﻋﯿُ ٍﻦ َوا ْﺟﻌَ ْﻠﻨَﺎ ِﻟ ْﻠ ُﻤﺘﱠ ِﻘﯿ َﻦ إِ َﻣﺎ ًﻣﺎ‬ Rabbana hab lana min azwaajinaa wa thurriyyaatina qurrata a'yun waj'alnaa lil- muttaqeena imaama Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders of those who have Taqwa [Al-Furqan: 74] Supplication 9 ‫ َوأَ ْﻏﻨِﻨِﻲ ﺑِﻔَ ْﻀ ِﻠ َﻚ َﻋ ﱠﻤ ْﻦ ِﺳ َﻮا َك‬،‫اﻟﻠﱠ ُﮭ ﱠﻢ ا ْﻛ ِﻔﻨﻲ ﺑِ َﺤﻼ ِﻟ َﻚ َﻋ ْﻦ َﺣ َﺮا ِﻣ َﻚ‬ Allahummak-fini bi halaalika 'an haraamika wa aghninee bifadlika 'amman siwaak O Allah, Grant me enough of what You make lawful so that I may cast aside what You make unlawful, and bestow upon me Your favor so that I may dispense with all but You [Al-Albaani] An-Noor Al-Mubeen Project 5

Supplications from the Qur’an & Sunnah Supplication 10 ‫َوأَﻋﻮذُ ﺑِ َﻚ َوأَِﻣﻋْاﻦﻟﻮﺒُﻓِاذُْﺘْﻟﺨﻨَﻠّـﺑِـ ُﮭ ِﻞﺔَـﻚ ﱠﻢاَأَﻟوإِأَْﺪﱡﻧِّن ْﻧـﻋـأُﯿﻮﻲَﺎرذُأَدﱠَوﺑِأﻋَإِﻟَﻚﻮﻋذُﻰﻮِﻣذأﺑَُِ َ ْﻦ َرﺑِﻚاذَ َﻟﻚِ ِﻣل ُﺠ َِـﻣﻦا ْﺒﻟ ْـﻦﻦﻌُ ُﻤَﻋـﺮﺬا ِب اﻟﻘَـ ْﺒﺮ‬ Allahumma inni a'uthu bika minal-bukhli, wa a'uthu bika minal-jubni, wa a'uthu bika an uradda ila arthalil-'umuri, wa a'uthu bika min fitnatid-dunya, wa a'uthu bika min 'athabil-qabr O Allah, I seek refuge with You from miserliness, and I seek refuge with You from cowardice, and I seek refuge with You from reaching the age of senility, and I seek refuge with You from the trials of this life and I seek refuge with You from the torment of the grave [Al-Bukhari] Supplication 11 ‫َرﺑﱠﻨَﺎ ا ْﻏ ِﻔ ْﺮ ِﻟﻲ َو ِﻟ َﻮا ِﻟﺪَ ﱠي َو ِﻟ ْﻠ ُﻤ ْﺆ ِﻣﻨِﯿ َﻦ ﯾَ ْﻮ َم ﯾَﻘُﻮ ُم ا ْﻟ ِﺤ َﺴﺎ ُب‬ Rabbana-ghfir li wa liwaalidayya wa lil-mu'mineena yawma yaqoomul-hisaab Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers the Day the account is established [Ibrahim: 41] An-Noor Al-Mubeen Project 6

Supplications from the Qur’an & Sunnah Supplication 12 ِ‫اﻟﻠﱠ ُﮭ ﱠﻢ إﻧِّﻲ أَ ُﻋﻮذُ ﺑِ َﻚ ِﻣ ْﻦ َزوا ِل ﻧِ ْﻌ َﻤﺘِ َﻚ وﺗَ َﺤ ﱡﻮ ِل َﻋﺎﻓِﯿَﺘِ َﻚ وﻓُﺠﺎ َءةِ ﻧِ ْﻘ َﻤﺘِ َﻚ و َﺟ ِﻤﯿﻊ‬ ‫َﺳ َﺨ ِﻄ َﻚ‬ Allahumma inni a'oothu bika min zawaali ni'matika, wa tahawwuli 'aafiyatika, wa fujaa'ati niqmatika, wa jamee'i sakhatika O Allah, I seek refuge in you from withholding of Your favor, the decline of my well-being, the suddenness of Your punishment, and all what displeases You [Muslim] Supplication 13 ‫َرﺑﱠﻨَﺎ ا ْﺻ ِﺮ ْف َﻋﻨﱠﺎ َﻋﺬَا َب َﺟ َﮭﻨﱠ َﻢ ۖ إِ ﱠن َﻋﺬَاﺑَ َﮭﺎ َﻛﺎ َن َﻏ َﺮا ًﻣﺎ‬ Rabbanas-rif 'anna 'athaaba jahannam, inna 'athaabahaa kaana gharaama Our Lord! Avert from us the torment of Hell. Verily, its torment is ever an inseparable, permanent punishment [Al-Furqan: 65] Supplication 14 ‫ َو ِﻣ ْﻦ ﻧَ ْﻔ ٍﺲ ﻻ‬،‫ َو ِﻣ ْﻦ ﻗَ ْﻠ ٍﺐ ﻻ ﯾَ ْﺨ َﺸ ُﻊ‬،‫اﻟﻠﱠ ُﮭ ﱠﻢ إﻧِّﻲ أَ ُﻋﻮذُ ﺑ َﻚ ِﻣﻦ ِﻋ ْﻠ ٍﻢ ﻻ ﯾَ ْﻨﻔَ ُﻊ‬ ‫ َو ِﻣ ْﻦ دَ ْﻋ َﻮةٍ ﻻ ﯾُ ْﺴﺘَ َﺠﺎ ُب ﻟَ َﮭﺎ‬،‫ﺗَ ْﺸﺒَ ُﻊ‬ Allahumma inni a'oothu bika min 'ilmin laa yanfa' wa min qalbin laa yakhsha' wa min nafsin laa tashba' wa min da'watin laa yustajaabu laha O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge that is not beneficial, and from a heart that does not fear (You), and from a soul that does not feel content and from a supplication that is not answered. Supplications from the Qur’an & Sunnah Supplication 15 ‫ َو َﺷ َﻤﺎﺗَ ِﺔ‬،‫ َو ُﺳﻮ ِء ا ْﻟﻘَ َﻀﺎ ِء‬،‫ﻷَ َو ْﻋدَﺪَ َار ِء ِك اﻟ ﱠﺸﻘَﺎ ِء‬،ْ ‫اﻟﻠﮭ ﱠﻢ إﻧِّﻲ أ ُﻋﻮذُ ﺑِ َﻚ ِﻣ ْﻦ َﺟ ْﮭ ِﺪ ا ْﻟﺒَ َﻼ ِءا‬ Allahumma inni a'oothu bika min jahdil-balaa' wa darakish-shaqaa'i wa soo'il- qadaa'i wa shamaatatil-a'daa' O Allah I seek refuge in You from severe calamity, being overtaken by misery, evil destiny, and the triumphant mockery of enemies [Al-Bukhari & Muslim] Supplication 16 ‫إ َﱠوﻻﻣﺎأَ ْﻧ َﺖ‬ ،َ‫َ ْﻋﻠَﻻ ْﻨإﻟَُﺖﮫ‬،‫ُﻤﻘََوِﺪّ ُﻣمﺎ َأوَأَ ْﻧْﺳ َﺮَﺖ ْراﻟ ُُتﻤ َﺆَو ِّﺧﻣﺎُﺮأ‬،‫أَأَ ْﻧﱠﺧ ْﺮَﺖ ُاتﻟ‬،‫أَﻣﺎ ْﻋﻠَﻗَ ُﻢﺪﱠ ْﻣﺑﮫ ُﺖ ِﻣ َﻨِّوﻣﻲﺎ‬ ‫اﻟﻠﱠ ُﮭ ﱠﻢ ا ْﻏ ِﻔ ْﺮ ﻟﻲ‬ ‫ َوﻣﺎ أَ ْﻧ َﺖ‬،‫أَ ْﺳ َﺮ ْﻓ ُﺖ‬ Allahumma-ghfir li ma qaddamtu wa ma akh-khartu, wa ma asrartu, wa ma a'lantu, wa ma asraftu, wa ma Anta a'lamu bihi minni. Antal-Muqqadimu, wa Antal-Mu'akh-khiru. La ilaha illa Anta O Allah, forgive my past and future sins, my secret and open sins, my transgression, and that of which You have better knowledge than I. Indeed, You are the One Who puts forward, and You are the One Who puts back. There is no God but You [Muslim] An-Noor Al-Mubeen Project 8

Supplications from the Qur’an & Sunnah Supplication 17 ‫ أَ ْﻧ َﺖ َو ِﻟﯿﱡ َﮭﺎ َو َﻣ ْﻮ َﻻ َھﺎ‬،‫ َو َز ِّﻛ َﮭﺎ أَ ْﻧ َﺖ َﺧ ْﯿ ُﺮ َﻣﻦ َز ﱠﻛﺎ َھﺎ‬،‫اﻟﻠﱠ ُﮭ ﱠﻢ آ ِت ﻧَ ْﻔ ِﺴﻲ ﺗَ ْﻘ َﻮا َھﺎ‬ Allahumma aati nafsee taqwaahaa wa zakkihaa anta khairu man zakkaaha anta waliyyuhaa wa mawlaaha O Allah, grant me piety and purify my soul as You are the best to purify it. You are its Guardian and Master [Muslim] Supplication 18 ،‫ وﺑﻚ َﺧﺎ َﺻ ْﻤ ُﺖ‬،‫أَﻧَ ْﺒ ُﺖ‬ ‫وأإِﻟَﻧﯿ َﺖﻚ‬،‫ﻲ‬،‫أوﻧ َﻋﻠَﺖﯿ أ َﻚنﺗَ َﺗُﻮ ﱠﻛ ْﻠﻀﻠﱠﻨﺖ‬ ،‫ وﺑِ َﻚ آ َﻣﻨ ُﺖ‬،‫اﻟﻠﱠ ُﮭ ﱠﻢ ﻟﻚ أَ ْﺳﻠَ ْﻤ ُﺖ‬ ،‫اﻟ َﺤ ﱡﻲ اﻟﺬي ﻻ ﺗﻤﻮت‬ ‫اﻟﻠﮭﻢ أ ُﻋﻮذ ﺑِﻌ ﱠﺰﺗﻚ؛ ﻻ إﻟﮫ إﻻ‬ ‫واﻟ ِﺠ ﱡﻦ واﻹ ْﻧ ُﺲ ﯾَ ُﻤﻮﺗُﻮ َن‬ Allahuma laka aslamtu, wa bika 'aamantu, wa 'alayka tawakaltu, wa ilayka anabtu, wa bika khaasamtu. Allahuma a'uthu bi'izzatika laa ilaaha illa anta an tudillani, antal hayyul-lathee laa tamoot, wal jinnu wal insu yamootoon O Allah, to You I have submitted, and in You I have believed, in You I have put my trust, to You I have turned in repentance, and for You I have argued. O Allah, I seek refuge with Your power, there is no god but You, that You lead me astray. You are the Ever Living, the One who never dies, whereas the human beings and jinn will all die [Al-Bukhari & Muslim] An-Noor Al-Mubeen Project 9

Supplications from the Qur’an & Sunnah Supplication 19 ‫ٓﻻ ِإﻟَ ٰـﮫَ ِإ ﱠ ٓﻻ أَﻧ َﺖ ُﺳ ْﺒ َﺤ ٰـﻨَ َﻚ إِ ِﻧّﻰ ُﻛﻨ ُﺖ ِﻣ َﻦ ٱﻟ ﱠﻈ ٰـ ِﻠ ِﻤﯿ َﻦ‬ La ilaha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu mina-thaalimeen There is no god [worthy of worship] except You. Glory be to You! Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers [Al-Anbiya’: 87] Supplication 20 ‫ﻓَﺎ ِط َﺮ اﻟ ﱠﺴ َﻤﺎ َوا ِت َوا ْﻷَ ْر ِ َضوأَ ْأﻟَﻧ ِﺤ ْﻘَﺖﻨِ َﻲو ِﻟﯿِّﺑِﺎﻟﻲ ﻓِ ﱠﺼﺎﻲِﻟ ِاﺤﻟﯿﺪﱡ َْﻧﻦﯿَﺎ َوا ْﻵ ِﺧ َﺮةِ ۖ ﺗَ َﻮﻓﱠﻨِﻲ ُﻣ ْﺴ ِﻠ ًﻤﺎ‬ Fatira-ssamaawaati wal ardi Anta waliyyee fee-ddunya wal akhirati tawaffanee musliman wa alhiqnee bissaaliheen Creator of the heavens and earth, You are my protector in this world and in the Hereafter.
