We thank you for their contributions which have aided this Fellowship to this state. We ask that you endue these new officers with your Holy Spirit that they would be empowered to carry out their task without fear or favour and that their period of Stewardship would see the Methodist Youth Fellowship moving on to greater heights. Marianne Farningham, 1834-1909 INDUCTION OF DIOCESAN MYF OFFICERS 2023 6

B. PROCLAMATION The Diocesan Youth Organizer moves the congregation and then presents the officers for induction by saying: The Methodist Youth Fellowship has been permitted in all our Societies aided by The Youth Development Ministry for the training of young people in line with the Mission and Vision of the Church. It has developed from being an organization for the educated youth coming out of our schools to embrace all segment of the youth found in our Fellowship as Christ’s Church and has produced and seen various leaders to guide the organization. Such leaders so appointed to lead the Fellowship are inducted into office. The induction service so conducted for them is to create in them the awareness that they share in the yoke of the Church’s leadership and the responsibilities of its task of loving, caring, making all members avowed Disciples of Christ and full members of the Church. This service also impresses upon them the fact that they are accountable to God for their Stewardship someday to come. We are here in the name of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit to offer these our brothers and sisters, duly appointed to lead the Methodist Youth Fellowship, Tarkwa Diocese and their Stewardship to God through prayer and dedication. We believe that God will visit them with the Holy Spirit so that they may exercise their office to the admiration of all and to the glory of God in Christ Jesus. INDUCTION OF DIOCESAN MYF OFFICERS 2023 7

C. Hymn - MHB 572 i. BEHOLD the servant of the Lord! I wait Thy guiding eye to feel, To hear and keep Thy every word, To prove and do Thy perfect will, Joyful from my own works to cease, Glad to fulfil all righteousness. ii. INDUCTION OF DIOCESAN MYF OFFICERS 2023 8

iii. My every weak, through good design, O'errule, or change, as seems Thee meet; Jesus, let all my work be Thine! Thy work, O Lord, is all complete, And pleasing in Thy Father's sight; Thou only hast done all things right. iv. Here then to Thee Thy own I leave; Mould as Thou wilt Thy passive clay; But let me all Thy stamp receive, But let me all Thy words obey, Serve with a single heart and eye, And to Thy glory live and die. Amen. Charles Wesley, 1707 – 88 D. The Bishop then says; Beloved in Christ, God in time past and every generation called people unto Himself for one service or the other. His calling has not ceased and that in our time He continues to call able men and women into service for the building up of the body of Christ. We have gathered here today in this holy place to offer our brothers and sisters unto God, who we believe have been called by God Himself into this high office as Diocesan Officers of the Methodist Youth Fellowship. It is important that we pray for our brothers and sisters who have been elected by the Diocesan Conference of the Methodist Youth Fellowship and adopted by The Youth Development Ministry, the representative of the church for youth affairs, before we induct them into office. For this is the example our Lord had left for us. In the scriptures Jesus never undertook any engagement without committing it into prayer. Luke says Jesus spent the whole night in prayer before appointing His Apostles. The Apostles did same according to the Acts of apostles before Paul and Barnabas were sent out. Let us from our hearts pray and commit them to God that His favour will be upon them and that strength would be given them for the task ahead. INDUCTION OF DIOCESAN MYF OFFICERS 2023 9

E. A moment of silent prayers; Bishop prays; Holy Father, we commit into your hands our brothers and sisters whom your love has found worthy to lead the Methodist Youth Fellowship in this Diocese, without you they can do nothing. You have the power to equip the weak for your own Glory. Be with them, counsel them and empower them that during their time the Methodist Youth Fellowship will know no bounds of development, prosperity and integrity. May they make disciples from among the young people, who will proclaim you to all peoples with their lives and words through Christ our Lord, Amen. F. Hymn - MHB 386 i. O Thou who camest from above The pure celestial fire to impart, Kindle a flame of sacred love On the mean alter of my heart! ii. There let it for Thy glory burn With inextinguishable blaze; And trembling to its source return, In humble prayer and fervent praise. iii. Jesus, confirm my heart's desire To work, and speak, and think for Thee; Still let me guard the holy fire, And still stir up Thy gift in me. iv. Ready for all Thy perfect will, My act of faith and love repeat, Till death Thy endless mercies seal, And make the sacrifice complete. Charles Wesley 1707-88 INDUCTION OF DIOCESAN MYF OFFICERS 2023 10
