Where does Chrome store bookmarks on Windows 10? There are different versions of windows over the years and Windows 10 is one of the versions among them which is designed to run not only on desktop and laptop computers, but also on tablets. Even though the latest version is Windows 11, so many users are still using Windows 10 version. Now coming to the topic, chrome bookmarks are those from which we can access our required website or browse a particular website in a very simple manner. For example, if you visit a website more frequently, then there is no need to search that website when you visit it every time. Instead, you can add that website to your bookmarks bar and with just one click you will be directed to that website. It is also very easy to add, remove and rename the bookmarks. The file path is File Explorer → Windows (C:) → Users → Name (folder which is named after system name) → AppData → Local → Google → Chrome → UserData → Profile 1 / Profile 2 / Default → Bookmarks. • Step 1: First, open the file explorer in your windows 10 computer or laptop or tablet. • Step 2: Now, open the Windows (C:) in your file explorer. • Step 3: Open the Users folder which is visible in Windows (C:). • Step 4: Now open the folder which is named after your system name. For example, if your system RAHUL, then the Users folder contains a folder called RAHUL. Open that folder. • Step 5: Next, open the AppData folder. If it does not visible, then that means the AppData folder is hidden in your computer or laptop. There is also a way to find out and open the hidden folders. For this, you have to change the system settings of your computer or laptop. In order to open the hidden folder, click on the View option which will be available on the top and in that, click on the Show option and then click on ‘Show Hidden Items’. Now, the folder, that is AppData will be visible. If the folder is not visible, in short, you have to follow the below pathway, View → Show → Show Hidden Items. • Step 6: After opening the AppData folder, there will be folder named ‘LOCAL’. Open that folder.
• Step 7: Next, open the Google folder present in the Local folder. • Step 8: Open the Chrome folder in the Google folder. • Step 9: Now, open the UserData that is present in the Chrome folder. • Step 10: In this folder, you will find so many files and you just have to search for only three files named ‘PROFILE 1’ or ‘PROFILE 2’ or ‘DEFAULT’. It is depended upon the number of profiles that are present in the chrome browser. First, search for the file named Profile 1. If you don’t find it, then search for the file named Profile 2. If you don’t find this file also, then search for the Default folder. • Step 11: After completion of Step 10, scroll down to find the file named bookmarks. And here, your chrome bookmarks are stored. You can access or open them through Notepad++ to check whether it is the correct folder or not. In this way, you can locate your bookmarks in your Windows 10 Computer or Laptop. These are the steps that are to be followed, if you want to locate or if you want to see your bookmarks in your Windows 10 Computer or laptop. To access the deleted bookmarks: If some bookmarks are deleted from your chrome browser and you want to restore them back, then you can these bookmarks using this way and you can add a particular bookmarked website by following these steps. 2.
