Grade One Lesson 1 Keep your body clean1. Musilms must stay clean and pure at all times.2. I must take a bath to keep my body clean.3. I must wash my body with soap.4. I must rinse my body three times.5. It is sunnah to bath on Fridays.6. I must not waste water when bathing. Lesson 2 Clean habits1. Allah , loves those who stay clean.2. When I get up from my sleep, I must wash my hands.3. I must clean my mouth and brush my teeth daily.4. I must use a miswaak to brush my teeth.5. I must cut my nails once a week.6. I must clean my nose with my left hand.7. I must wash my hands before and after meals. Lesson 3 Surroundings of a Muslim1. Islaam teaches us to keep our surroundings clean.2. I must keep the toilet clean by flushing it after use.3. I must not spit on the floor.4. I must throw all litter into the bin.5. I must always keep my Masjid and Madrasah clean.6. I must keep my home and yard clean. 1
Grade Two Lesson 1 The aadaab (etiquettes) of using the toilet and Istinjaa1. I must cover my head and wear shoes or sandals.2. I must read the dua before entering the toilet.3. I must enter the toilet with the left foot.4. I must take care that urine drops do not splash on my body and clothes.5. I must sit and urinate.6. Istinjaa means to clean oneself with water, mud pieces (lumps of sand) or toilet paper after passing urine or stool.7. I must use my left hand when making istinjaa.8. I must leave the toilet with my right foot.9. I must read the dua after leaving the toilet. Lesson 2 Don’ts of the toilet1. Do not enter the toilet bareheaded.2. Do not enter the toilet barefoot.3. Do not face the Qiblah, or face your back towards the Qiblah while passing urine or stool in an open place. If it is in a built toilet, it is not makrooh.4. Do not eat, drink or talk in the toilet.5. Do not read any books or newspapers in the toilet.6. Do not read any dua or verse of the Qur’aan in the toilet. 2
Lesson 6 IqaamahThe Iqaamah is called out prior to the performance of the Fardh salaah.The Mu’adh’dhin or anyone else may call out the Iqaamah.The words of Iqaamah: ǂą ăƦǯƒ ơƊ Éƅơ ǂą ăƦǯƒ ơƊ Éƅơ Allah U is the greatest. Allah U is the greatest. Ìƅơ ōȏơĉ ăǾdzơĉȏō ǹƒ ơƊ ƾĄ Ȁă Nją ơƊ I bear witness that there is no God besides Allah U. Ìƅơ DZƌ Ȃą LJĄ ǁċ ơƾĆ Ǹċ Ƹă ǷĄ ōǹơƊ ƾĄ Ȁă Nją ơƊI bear witness that Muhammad U is the messenger of Allah U. Ƨƒ ȂǴǐċ dzơ ȄǴƊǟă Ȇċ Ʒă Come to Salaah. (Turn the face to the right when saying these words) Ƶą ȐƊ ǨƊdzƒơ ȄǴƊǟă Ȇċ Ʒă Come to success. (Turn the face to the left when saying these words) Ƨƒ ȂǴǐċ dzơ ƪĉ ǷăƢǫƊ ƾą ǫƊ Ƨƒ ȂǴǐċ dzơ ƪĉ ǷăƢǫƊ ƾą ǫƊSalaah is indeed about to begin. Salaah is indeed about to begin ǂą ăƦǯƒ ơƊ Éƅơ ǂą ăƦǯƒ ơƊ ÉƅơAllah U is the greatest. Allah U is the greatest. Ìƅơ ȏō ơĉ Ǿădzơĉ ȏƊ There is no God besides Allah U. 11

Recite the Duaa-ul-Istiftaah: Ǻă Ƿĉ ƢƊǻƗƊ ƢǷă ċȁ ƆƢǸǴĉLją ǷČ ƢǨƆȈąǼƎƷă ăǑąǁƢƊdzƒơȁă ĉƩȂÙ ǸLjċ dzơ ăǂǘƊ ǧƊ ąȅǀĉ ōǴdzĉ Ȇă ȀƎ Ƴą ȁă ƪĄ Ȁą Ƴċ ȁă Ɗȏ ăǺȈąǸĉ dzƊƢǠădzƒơ ƎËƣăǁ ÊƅÊ ąȆƫĉƢǸă Ƿă ăȁ ăȅƢȈăƸą ăǷ ăȁ ąȆǰĉ LjĄ ǻĄ ăȁ ąȆƫĉȂǴǏă ǹō ƛƎ Ǻă ąȈǯĉ ǂƎ nją ǸĄ dzƒơ .ăǺȈąǸĉ ǴĉLją ǸĄ dzƒơ ăǺǷĉ ƊÈƢǻƗƊ ăȁ ĄƩǂą Ƿĉơƌ ăǮĉdzǀƥƎȁă ĄǾdzƊ ăǮȇąǂƎ Njă9. Recite Ta’awwudh and Tasmiyyah followed by Surah Faatiha. Ta’awwudh ǶƎ ȈąƳƎ ǂċ dzơ ǹĉ ƢǘƊ Ȉąnjċ dzơ ăǺǷĉ ƅÊ ƢƥƎ ƿƌ Ȃą ǟĄ ƗƊ I seek protection in Allah , from shaytaan, the rejected. Tasmiyyah: ǶƎ ąȈƷĉ ǂċ dzơ ǺƎ ǸƷą ǂċ dzơ ƅÊ ơ ǶƎ Lją ƥƎ In the name of Allah , the Most Kind, the Most Merciful.10. Say Aameen at the end of Surah Faatiha. Thereafter recite Tasmiyyah followed by a Surah. If you are reciting from anywhere other than the beginning of a Surah, do not recite Tasmiyyah.11. Proceed to Ruku in the following manner: lift the hands to the shoulders, say Takbeer and go into the Ruku position. Hold the knees with your hands and keep your gaze between the feet. Keep the back and head straight in line.12. Recite the Tasbeeh of Ruku at least thrice: ƎǶȈąǜĉ Ǡădzƒơ Ȇă ƥËƎǁă ƊǹƢƸă ąƦLJĄ Glory be to My Lord, the Great and all praise is for Him.13. When standing erect from Ruku, say the Tasmee’ of Ruku while getting up and also lift the hands to the shoulders. When standing erect from Ruku keep the gaze in the place of Sujood. Tasmee of ruku: ąǽƾă Ǹĉ Ʒă ąǺǸă dzĉ Éƅơ ăǞǸĉ LJă Allah U has heard he who has praised Him. 13
