APPENDIX Google Analytics The majority of the website views came from Copenhagen, Paris and Frederiksberg(Sweden). Demographic Analysis Conclusion Our team has identified that the majority of our website visitors are using either French, Danish or English language which gives us the opportunity to reach these target groups on their native lan- guages by translating the website to French and Danish. This is an opportunity for our client in the future, as we do not have the time nor the resources to conduct such translation. Based on this research our team also suggests to our client to shift the main focus of the targe-

group from UK to visitors from Copenhagen (Denmark) and Paris (France) and to their respectivecountries as well.Browser support is a crucial point in every modern website. The solution our team is making hasto work cross platform and browser to provide our users reliability and compatibility. We have ob-served the google analytics data about what kind of browsers do our users use.As we observe these percentages closely it is safe to say that we are seeing the stagnation of theweb trend since 2014. As users were shifting away from Internet Explorer and Firefox, Google Chromebecame the leading browser that more than 45% of our users are using.Surprisingly more of our users are using safari than firefox, this could be due to the native iOS brows-er set to Safari and the ever increasing trend of mobile devices nowadays. The majority of our users are utilizing Windows operating system which the second contestant be-ing Apple products such as MacOS and iOS for desktop and mobile users. Only a little bit more thanfive percent of our users are using Android devices.

On mobile platforms we have seen a clear dominance of iOS users on our website. Followed by aquarter of Android users, and a neglectable amount of windows operating system users. The main screen resolution is 375x667 which indicates the usage of iPhone 6 devices. Second isthe 360x640 resolution. This is the base resolution for many android devices and is one of the mostcommon breakpoints for designing in the web industry. 104

If a web solution would be created, keeping these top breakpoints in mind, it would be easily acces-sible and to provide and excellent user experience.ConclusionThis research has been conducted with the use of google analytics on the Nordic Noir Tours website. All data has been gathered as a field research on 2017.11.25 11:21 AMEach of the analytics section provided our team with an insight and different opportunities that givesvalue to our project and the client itself. These opportunities may be used throughout the project and can be referred to as “Nordic Noir ToursWebsite Google Analytics Field Research” 105

Notes from First Meeting With ClientNORDIC NOIR • (client also wants us to ask the fans what they think of the map we eventually will make, if the fans want to add something to it, or think NOTES FROM MEETING 19.09.2017 it should be different style etc.) - NORDIC INSITE vs. NORDIC NOIR – The Design o Teasers for the 4th season of The Bridge o Doesn’t care about the design so much § That season will be broadcasted in 12 countries at a time. § The 1st of October, 6 months before the season will be broadcasted she o Does not have to resemblance NORDIC INSITE – it’s a totally different company. wants to have a competition for the fans, and then they can win something o The layout does not have to be able to fit for INSITE also. (share the page to win a bag). Therefore, we must make a teaser every o The LOGO is the only thing that cannot be changed, for both companies month before the broadcast, that will be posted on Nordic Noir Tours Facebook site each month, for 6 months. (The teaser can be a video teaser, a poster, a banner or something like that…. improvise) - THE FANS – They apparently have a lot to say in this company o In relation to the atmosphere, the mood/ feeling of the design of the website, - BOOKING SYSTEM: brochures etc. o She would rather not have a booking system § Sometimes it scares people away, a lot of people do not like to commit o The TOURS – The guide often starts the tours with this question: What is Nordic while on vacation. Might be a bad weather and then they don’t show up etc. noir for you? How do you define it? o CALENDAR: The client is more on the idea of having a calendar where people/visitors on the website can see where and when the next open tours are FANS ANSWER: depressing, foggy, snowy, raw, murder, arty… going to be. o The client expects us to be very interactive with the fans… § Some people are crazy enough to take the next flight to go to the next open tour § Ask questions on Facebook e.g. What they would like to see on the new o MAYBE advertise that more, BIG letters on website, that its quick, easy and simple. website, what could be added on to it etc. “Show up for next tour, pay when you are there, no need to book”. And through the calendar – you can see if there is an open tour - The TOURS: o 90% of guests are BRITS (people from UK) - THE WEBSITE: o maximum guests on tours can be 20 people (which never happens, she said) o Add stuff on the website, have it more interesting. o sometimes the guide has only 2 people on a tour L § A place where people can go to the website not only for the tours, but for book recommendations, films, TV-shows, book clubs, venues, events § HYPES: • CONS: it would need much maintenance (which she doesn’t have time to do…?) • A lot of people come to see the bridge – it’s a big hype - now o MOBILE friendly § The website must be mobile friendly Denmark and Malmö is suddenly high on the map for tourists o Admin Panel § Must be super easy and simple for her to use. She is not good at WordPress. She thinks it is very confusing and scary and therefore, if we are to change • Paying 800 for tour? –coming from Australia (Bogan is a lot less the website by not using WordPress, it must be something simpler than that. popular than The Bridge) § she doesn’t want to pay for another subscription, it must be easy for her to maintain, it must work, the cPanel must be easy § Make a WordPress theme - DISCOUNTS: o The design o No discounts, no coupons o You can win a tour through “visit Denmark” 106 - MERCHANDISE: o She sells bags, with their logo on it and the slogan “from Scandinavia with crime” § They ae not selling the T-shirts any longer, because they are too much hustle because of the sizes, and people want to try them on first to see if it fits or not. Too much trouble. - PROJECTS TO WORK ON: o A map of Scandinavia with locations of each TV-series § can be a Google map style, with pins of locations § can be very graphic, more design wise

§ Less clear, more blurred, foggy, raw, graphic and NOIR…. she wants the mystery and the physiological atmosphere and mood when you are reading a book. She does not want a TV-show/movie trendy theme. o Images on website: § Many of the actor’s dislike Nordic Noir using pictures of them. Kim Budnear (what’s his name) gets very angry when his face is on websites??? - ADVERTISING & MARKETING: o Brochures: she already has a closet full of brochures printed. § PROS: Good advertising. Attracts tourists, people on hotel look at brochures to see what there is to do in Copenhagen and go for the tour. § CONS: Costs 12000 per year + vat – to put them at Hotel Lobbies or tourist information • Possibilities: She can put the brochures at Coffee shops for free – but she has no time o News Letters § Need an email list if there is one o Facebook ads § Good, cheap, quick and easy - Especially because she has no time § Quick way to get lots of costumers o Their LOGO advertised on other websites: § Costs 100.000 DKK a year to have your logo on other big websites, for example www.visitdenmark.dk - • However, she could have the logo for free for one year on “www.visitdenmark.dk” if she would reveal some info about the tour and locations – that got her a lot of costumers. - TRACKING – WEBSITE VISITORS: o she has no tracking (how many people check her website)– But she receives an email 2 X a month with Google Analytics - MORE: o She wants to look very professional with a great website, so later in the future she can contact the nordicnoir.tv and get collaboration (10%) for advertising them, for sweaters, TV-show directors etc.… o FINALLY - We MUST GIVE her information and bullet points from what we will do: the functionality of the website, how the Scandinavia map is going to be, the game/teaser for 1. October for broadcasting, google analytics, Facebook advertising…… o Lastly, remember that her budget is little… 107
