PACE (Pathways to a College Experience) a program that aims to expose middle and elementary school students to the possibility of a college education by offering a holistic experience at UR’s campus. We leveraged our creative confidence thanks to our expansive network of educators, volunteers and mentors around the great area of Richmond. We believe it has tremendous potential to help students envision academic opportunities post K-12 education. 1
PACE MISSION 2 Is to expose middle and elementary school students to college , and to broaden their horizons on how life can be post K-12 Education. V I S I O N To create a resourceful and supportive space for students facing barriers in post secondary opportunities.
Who is PACE for ? Elementary & middle school student In Richmond Metro Region. Interesting in exploring * education post K-12 * college degree * career and networking **Priority given to first-generation college students. Who is involved ? Bonner Center for Civic Engagement Oliver Hill Scholars Program Volunteers from University of Richmond Schools in Richmond great metro region 3

UR PACE Sample schedule UR PACE is a 200-minute program. It includes several tailored activites that aims to create a rewarding experience for the participating students. The schedule below might be subject to change if certain curcumstances are to occur. Sample Schedule 11 : 00 - 11 : 15 Arrival and Check-in/ Attendance 11 : 15 - 11 : 40 Introduction about PACE, UR, College 11 : 40 - 12 : 00 College experience shared by a College student 12 : 00 - 12 : 30 Breaking up into small groups + group discussion with Volunteers 12 : 30 - 01 : 00 01 : 00 - 01 : 10 Mini campus visit within groups (Fron THC) 01 : 20 - 02 : 00 Picnic set up + yard games 02 : 00 - 02 : 15 Lunch with another small group 02 : 15 - 02 : 30 Wrapping up + distributing UR Swags Last event activity + Last attendance 02 : 30 - 02 : 40 Heading back to the school buses 5
