Technology of Safety Planning and Management in Construction SitePresented by: Mr. Kantapon Arunrungruengkit and Mr.Setthapong Nualpetch Abstract Construction work have high risk and can make many accidents inconstruction area because they use heavy equipment, machine or tools that havedangerous for using and construction work have many types of workingincluding work at high, confine space, hot work, etc. Moreover, workers thatwork in construction area that lack of skill and knowledge with safety workingat construction site. Risk from working at construction area causing workersthat working get injury or death from working at construction site. So, theaccidents can happen in small or large area and when severe accident isappearing that cause to damage property, building and community that aroundarea. If we lack of control and prevention, incident and accident will oftenappear in the construction site with normally. So, in the present law and regulation about construction area that apply touse in every construction site but it’s not enough to reduce the incident andaccident rate in construction site. We interested to apply the technology toplanning and manage the safety action and condition with risk that will appearby use 3D building information modeling (BIM) and 4D constructionsimulation in safety planning and management. Form the study in the research, 2 Program including 3D BIM and 4Dsimulations use to design the structure and construction area to identify the riskin construction site and planning to find out the method of prevention andcontrol by 3D picture and animation video demonstrate of accident Inconclusion, from technology used in both 3D BIM and 4D simulationthat can be use at new Collaboratory safety planning, management, training toolwith effective and useful for construction site.
Comparison of Effective between Smartphone Sound Measurement Application and Sound Level Meter (SLM)Presented by: Miss Jintanipa Othong and miss Raksamol Wisessikgarn Abstract The objectives of this seminar are studies of new innovation for soundmeasurement and compare the effective between sampling using a sound levelmeter (SLMs) most widely used in the practice of occupational hygiene andNIOSH sound level meter application (app) that presents a great opportunity torevolutionize current data collection and surveillance practices to expand thebase of people being able to measure noise. NIOSH signed a Memorandum ofUnderstanding (MOU) agreement with Enterprise Architecture (EA) LAB todevelop the NIOSH Sound Level Meter app. The result of this study found thatno smartphone or smartphone-based app has met the requirements ofInternational Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) or American NationalStandards Institute (ANSI). Meanwhile, professional sound level meter (SLMs)must comply with National and International standard such as the AmericanNational Standards Institute (ANSI). The ubiquity of the application meets onlyone of the specified requirements in sound level meter standards and toemphasize that smartphone sound apps were not designed to meet such rigorousstandards, but apps can be used to measure the initial work environment whichworkers are exposed to loud noises and to monitor the noise levels inaccordance with the law.
Applying Sensor-Based Technology to Improve Construction Safety ManagementPresented by: Miss Puttida Tanoppakao and Miss Ratchaneekorn Monphalat Abstract Current construction in the country increasing rapidly but what happenedin the construction practice is an accident which the accident occurred causingloss of life and property very seriously due to those who work on constructionsites are often required to use large tools and pieces of machinery, work atheight and in environments where hazardous materials are present so the safetymanagement in construction is more difficult. From statistics of an accident inconstruction has a high rate due to many construction sites have workedunderground or in confined spaces which hazard that occurs from harmfulgases, exposure to the hazardous environment and injuries were caused by fireand explosions. Therefore, some construction site has been used various information andcommunications technologies that modern and easy to use to adopted forconstruction safety management, including controlling and help reduce issuesbefore they become major problems and to improve the safety performance ofthe construction industry. And also, it has to give real-time alerts and long-termanalysis of risk levels at job sites and can see if temperatures are rising andprevent a construction site fire from getting out of control and can also see ifhumidity levels are increasing, which will indicate if a leak has sprung. By theway to improve the management of construction safety which has WirelessSensor Network (WSN) and Building Information modeling (BIM). WSN isone of the important technologies developed from Internet of Things (IoT) canalert and detect the abnormalities of those environments and can be checkedbefore it was damaged. It has collected the hazardous gas temperature andhumidity information for each location of the site through a sensor node andreal-time data presentation. Another one technology is Building Informationmodeling that virtual digitally both 2D and 3D. So, both technologies enhancethe efficiency in construction safety management.
Visual and Augmented Reality (VR/AR) Application in ConstructionPresented by: Miss Anchana Ratchain and miss Ubontip Nonsiri Abstract Nowadays construction is a large, dynamic and complex sector that offera large number of employment opportunities for millions of people worldwidelead to cause of many accident in construction site such as fall from a height, slips, trips or fall, struck by moving including flying or falling object, injuredwhile handling, lifting or carrying, exposure to fire and exposure to harmfulsubstance etc. As mentioned above cause of all accident is from worker lack ofknowledge, careless and lack of awareness from the reason is that why the fetalaccidents in the construction industry trend to be higher than in the other section So, Visual and Augmented reality (VR/AR) there has been a witnessedtrend of capitalizing on sophisticated immersive VR/AR applications and theeffectiveness of VR/AR system can solve a particular safety tissue. By theapplication is create to hazard identification by modeling and visualization forhazard identification with performance assessment system. And it also use forsafety inspection and training education for the worker. Safety inspection theapplication will provide interpreted information to catch and monitor thedifference between unsafe site condition and the standard safety requirement.so, from domain of application can help to reduce incident, accident andincrease awareness of worker to lead safety to the construction site.
Wearable Technological DevicesPresented by: Miss Wanwisa Kansa and Miss Wimwipha Sakhamula Abstract The wearable technological device was produced to provide comfort forthe user while wearing. Those of device can also provide the convenience to theuser and support the user while working. This study aims to study about the difference of two working supportingwearable technological devices which is the device that used as the lower backsupporter which are an On-body Personal Lift Augmentation (PLAD) and aPower Assist Wear (PAW). The result of the study found that the mechanismbetween these devices is quite different which is an On-body Personal LiftAugmentation (PLAD) is mainly use the elastic element align parallel to theerector spinae and leg muscle to transfer the force and moment from spinalcolumn to the shoulder, pelvic girdle and knees and the elastic element storeenergy from the stretching of the user during the bending to lift ,then the savedenergy will be released during lifting the task in a result to reduce the energyusing of the user. The other one, a Power Assist Wear (PAW) which use thepneumatic actuator as a source of the energy. The main component of thisdevice is the two pneumatic actuators which support in two ways. The firstactuator (A) act as the external muscle power generator which can reduce theforce required from spinae muscle. The second actuator (B) working as amoment arm to increase the effective torque during lifting, these two actuatorsworking together to support and reduce the force on user’s body.
