Places visited with friends that make fun memories, great photo opportunities, and/or other treats. El Monumento Sheraton Austin Georgetown Hotel & Conference Center
Places I visited while on a road trip that had easy & affordable parking access. El Monumento Hat Creek Burger Company Sheraton Austin Georgetown Hotel & Conference Center Southwestern University
Places I visited alone that I felt safe and would recommend to others. Hat Creek Burger Company Sheraton Austin Georgetown Hotel & Conference Center Southwestern University Texas Teen Book Festival
Southwestern University I was on the Southwestern University campus because they were hosting a book festival with lots of authors I adore. The festival was in the fall, with nice temperatures in the morning, making it a lovely time to walk around. I especially loved the buildings and the hammocks in the common area. A nice place for a walk or maybe photo opp!
Southwestern University The trees and hammocks were my FAV! What an awesome edition to any college campus! HAMMOCKS!
Sheraton Austin Georgetown Hotel and Conference Center I usually visit this hotel once a year for a conference I present at each summer. It’s normally during my birthday and this hotel is certainly a treat! At this hotel they have free covered parking, a great bar, a really good TIP: Be sure to sign up for restaurant, and a fun swimming the Marriott Bonvoy program pool. to get points for your visit. Because I was a member & stayed multiple days, I got a daily $10 bar voucher for reusing my towels!
El Monumento If you’re looking for a good margarita, fun outdoor seating, and tasty Tex-Mex, then you’ll love El Monumento. The scenery provides plenty of IG-worthy photos and the service is great.
Hat Creek Burger Company If you’re looking for a yummy, greasy burger place, then I recommend Hat Creek Burger Company. They had friendly staff, great seating, and an array of tasty sauces to dip your burger or fries into. You’ll order at the line and be aware it’s a bit pricey. For my meal here, I paid about $20.

The festival was in the fall, with nice temperatures in the morning, making it a lovely time to walk around. I especially loved the buildings and the hammocks in the common area.
