Susan and Steve Schoenfeld are long-time Board members and Co-Treasurers of BTC. They first joined the BTC family more than 20 years ago, when their child Roxy was 11 years old. For all of those years – and continuing to today, long after Roxy graduated – they have committed to BTC as super-volunteers who do anything and everything to support BTC. For 17 years, Susan has produced and designed every program for every BTC production. In the early days, Susan and Steve even copied, folded and stapled all of those programs by hand! As Co- Treasurers, they devote countless hours to keep BTC financially healthy. During the pandemic, their contributions were critical, ensuring that BTC secured more than $140,000 in government grants and credits. Perhaps even more importantly, 18 years ago they were key players in bringing Jason Brantman and Fiona Santos on as Co-Artistic Directors. BTC would simply not be what it is today without Susan’s and Steve’s extraordinary dedication as our partners, our advocates, and our friends. The Village of Hastings-on-Hudson for its COVID Response & Leadership The elected officials and staff of the Village of Hastings-on-Hudson have always been great partners with the local business community. But during the last 20 months, as businesses all over the region struggled to cope with the impact of the pandemic, the Village’s level of commitment and support has been truly remarkable. The Village’s Downtown Advocate sent special communications to make sure Hastings businesses were aware of every new grant and loan opportunity. Community events were organized to keep residents engaged and connected to local businesses. And health guidelines and rules were clearly communicated and backed by consultation with local public health officials and physicians. BTC in particular is grateful for the Village's timely communications about opportunities for funding for PPE, which allowed us to welcome students back to our space in person. And hosting outdoor screenings for our Spring Ensemble shows in Zinsser Park was a magical – and safe – way to bring the BTC family together after a long and difficult year. BTC and so many other Hastings businesses will forever be grateful for the Village’s COVID-response leadership and support.
