The resulting foals are qualified for the Classic Stallion Sweepstakes Class. By nominating their stallion, the owners are also allowed to enter one foal into the Classic Stallion Sweepstakes Class. All proceeds from the auction and nomination fees make up the sweepstakes purse. The following year, at the ASPC Congress, the Sweepstakes Class is held and the purse is divided and awarded to the top foals. AMHR Stallion SweepstakesThe AMHR Stallion Sweepstakes was established to give stallionowners an opportunity to profile their stallions, and win some moneyin the process. Most of these stallions do not stand to outside maresexcept through the AMHR Stallion Sweepstakes. Stallion ownersnominate their stallion for a fee of $200 - this entitles them todesignate one mare by the end of the year.Mare owners from all over the country can then bid on a secondbreeding to that stallion in an on-line auction held in late February.
