Tenth place in that huge Liberty class for Shaboda and the two teens was also a high point of the show. The show low point came on Tuesday afternoon when I got a text from one of the people feeding the horses at home that Princess (Aloha Acres Fashion By Magic) was really sore on her back end. Several text messages later I made arrangements for the vet to come while on Wednesday while someone was there to make sure it wasn’t something neurological. My vet came as scheduled, ran some tests, and sent me videos, but did not find anything serious. Only when I knew Princess was OK was I able to get my mind back on Nationals and my next class, which was Golden Age driving. This was my largest class with 15 entries, all sizes up to 34”, and likely all of them had more driving experience than Flip. We had a good drive and came out with tenth place! Some things I learned and advice for others: For us, havingof the “goodies”. When we arrived, the Youth classes had a trainer to take the horses to Nationals and do the work andjust finished and Amateur classes were just beginning and, worrying was the only way to go. We are comfortable (and doof course, there were classes all day and sometimes in both well) showing our other horses at local shows, but transportingarenas. We found ourselves watching more of the classes horses this far and for this long was not something we wantedthan we thought we would because it seemed like we knew to do. The hard work Iso I guess it didn’t hurt us any. I was a lot calmer than I put in over the summer was definitely worth it. I met Edd back in 2009 when I began shopping for my first Shetland.  I drove up to Bailey, NC, where I met Edd a few miles from his house.  He pulled up in a large white truck and looked down at me in a red Miata. He later told me he thought I was just some kid that wanted to play with his ponies.  But he spent that afternoon showing me his herd and narrowed it down to two mares, a bay mare named Belle and a seal bay mare named Tootles.  I decided to let him pick the pony that might best suit me and he picked Tootles. Edd lived through my adventures with Jubulations Tootles, who I affectionately named Sercy. But it was in 2011, at her first show she won every class, making her the 2011 Grand Champion Modern Pleasure Over Mare.  The joy in Edd’s voice when I told him was priceless. From there, many an hour was spent on the phone discussing the future of this mare.  Edd always said she was special.  And he rejoiced after each win, which included Congress wins such as the2013 Grand Champion Pleasure Stakes, 2014 Grand Champion Modern Pleasure Under, 2014 Grand Champion NSSPR Halter, 2016Congress Grand Champion Modern Pleasure Mare. Eighteen Congress Titles as well as HOF in Modern Halter and twice as a POY;2013 Modern Pleasure Halter and 2016 ASRP Halter.  With each win, Eds became more excited about his ponies, though most ofhis herd was gone, all except his Masterpiece who still lives on.Edd looked forward to his phone calls, photos, boxes of ribbons and trophies.  And the highlight was watching online in 2016 as bothJubulations Toodles and Harmony’s Legacy won their respective division.Edd did receive the Superior Dam award in 2014 for thegreat producing mare Hot to Trot Farm’s Half Pint.  Dam to both Jubulations Toodles and Harmony’s Legacy, he proudly displayed hisplaque with Sercy’s Congress wins, as well as one of her Congress trophies that he treasured.True to the end, Edd was a huge supporter of his ponies and I don’t think Edd knew how great a herd of ponies he truely raised. Hewill be missed, but his legacy will live on in his ponies! - Tina FerroSpecial appreciation to Edd’s widow, Deb Perdue, who has assisted with information for this article and 91 for still caring for their “Masterpiece” pony who is  28 years old! I start to look together, and many more laughs. Looking over at her while she’s singing at someone else in the ring and all of a sudden I glance back at her to our favourite country songs, so out of tune, but you could see the joy and she starts dancing in front of the horse and all the judges.
