From the Principal’s Desk The month of August brings a kaleidoscope of thoughts and emo ons. There is this looking skyward to spot the dark and low clouds laden with moisture that bring solace to the parched earth, and relief from the incessant heat. The clouds and the thunderstorms are followed by a dip in temperature, reigni ng the hope for tolerable climates to come. The above scenario and thought process fit well as a metaphor for India 73 years back. It was me to be free and become the master of one's des ny. Then we pledged to ourselves that, never again will we succumb to any kind of yoke from outside influences across borders. India has come a long way since then because we have invested in our youth at all mes. Con nuing the same trend, we look at our students as torchbearers of the tomorrows to come. It is an obliga on to prepare our students for the tasks that lie ahead. We need to help them develop skills, enrich them with values and ethics which will see them take India to pole posi on in the world order. Along the way, we need to keep the soul of India alive without losing our unique iden ty of Indianness. We want to march ahead but keep the spirit of India enshrined from our past alive. The month of August also brings joy to the farmer as he sees the Seedlings progressing past the stage of Buds and Blossoming into an iden ty of their own. Here at BIS, we look forward to a similar growth, a benchmark for which has been established by the excellent result of our first A Level Batch. These students step out into the future to make a mark of their own in the world order. Our best wishes are with them at all mes. We are confident that the gradua ng Batch of Bodhians will make us proud through their journey in life. We hope you have a wonderful month ahead and best of luck in every aspect of your life. We are here to support you and commi ed to a con nuum of robust learning for your children. Brahmam Bodhi Kishor Joshi Principal

Career Education Hub “Your future depends on what you do today” Mahatma Gandhi The past decade saw the sha ering of stereotypes, an increase in the unconven onal career realms and a variety of career choices. Now, the me has come to understand the cluster of 'Future proof careers' as the career trends in a post COVID19 era are bound to change. According to various researches, the kind of career trends to look out for would be: Several other careers that will observe a posi ve trend would be Automa on, Insurance, Cyber Security, Robo cs, ECommerce, Microbiology, Biotech, Digital Marke ng, Cyber Security, Gaming. The Covid19 pandemic has encouraged us to acknowledge the sensi ve nature of our career decisions, and how unprecedented events may lead to a complete Uturn. It is me for our students to be pragma c in their career choices; and their decisions should run in tandem with the career trends to follow in the postCovid world. The need of the hour is upskilling and reskilling, inculca ng agility, adaptability and resilience. Indoctrina on of resilience skills like being consciously aware, embracing change, nourishing yourself, building posi ve social rela onships, finding your purpose in life and prac cing your skills will prove to be the rubber ball without fail. “The oak fought the wind and was broken, the willow bent when it must and survived.”—Robert Jorden, The Fires of Heaven Khushboo Vyas Bali Career Educa on Hub

Student Corner Benevolent but Atrocious It's a beautiful world, isn't it? From Niagara Falls and Amazon rainforest to the Sahara desert and Machu Picchu, the world is diverse with every material need in the palm of our hands. With amusement parks to shopping malls, there is enough to enjoy and recreate. The opportunities available for the professions are unlimited and diversi ied. You can follow a role model or run behind your passion. With the freedom to do anything and everything possible, who would say the world isn't good or fair! But recent events have shown how glum and deadly the world can be with a negative vibe that is not permanent, but when it does appear, it leaves behind nothing but catastrophe, chaos and mourning. If you would ask me or any other normal person about the worst year in the huge canals of history, they would scoff and start laughing at you for not knowing what seems to be so obvious. No! It's not 1347 when the bubonic plague struck. It would be no match for the worst year. Obviously not 1914 when World war I started. Isn't it surely 2020? While some may agree to disagree, most people would surely say so without a hint of confusion on their faces. The year started blissfully with great pomp and effulgence like any normal one. But 8 months later, why is it regarded as the worst year in history? Of course, there is a virus which has affected 6 million people globally but still doesn't have a cure in sight. Then there are economies of countries falling to the dirt as a huge boulder crushed it underneath. But if that wasn't enough, count the natural calamities, military in iltrations from other countries and political leaders who ight for small power as their countries drown in remorse. There are so many causes to 2020 and the world breaking bad that 1347 and 1914 would sheepishly accept defeat. 2020 and the world now is referred to as 'breaking bad. This means the world has recently added the negative vibes and it wasn't negative from the beginning. This means the world can be patched and repaired only by our belief and trust in our leaders who are pushing to their maximum to guide and repair the world they lead. Our belief in them and our community are the only tools the leaders need and we should maintain the new normal rules to help everyone around and make the world what it was again!
