WTAP reaches 122,060 TV Households in our 17 county service area. If you take the 2.8 people per household, that the US census gives us, WTAP-TV’s total reach among individuals is 341,768. WTAP-TV is carried on all the cable systems in the 17 county viewing area and Dish and Direct TV too. Over30% of this market subscribes to Dish satellite TV or Direct satellite TV, and the cable penetration in thismarket is now less than 60% among three cable providers in Wood, Washington, and Pleasants County.WTAP-TV’s newscast maintain an 50% share of the audience or more, meaning that anybody that has their TVturned on during the news time period, at least ½ are watching WTAP-TV. The station rotation spot that youpurchase is one of the most cost efficient buys on WTAP-TV as the station rotator reaches, at any given time, a10% audience level among individuals. We signed on our CBS affiliate, WIYE, in 2012 and has been a huge success in the market. Our CBS station reaches into Wood, Washington and Pleasants counties. The total number of TV households reached in the CBS viewing area is 58,651 TV Households which is 164,222 individuals. CBS is carried on all cable systems and Dish and Direct satellite TV too. The CBS audience tends to be the baby boomer and skews a little older. The viewer for CBS tends to be more upscale and have a higher discretionary income. CBS also leads the way in prime programming, riding the wave of number one in prime time in three of the five most watched programs during prime time. CBS also has a strong sports audience too with the Masters golf tournament airing this past weekend and doing huge numbers. We signed on our Fox affiliate, WOVA, in 2006 when all television stations had to move to a digital signal. Our Fox station is the ONLY Fox station in the market and carries a local 10 o’clock newscast. The Fox station reaches into Wood, Washington, and Pleasants counties and reaches 58,658 TV Households. Total number of individuals that Fox reaches is 164,242 people. Fox is carried on all cable systems, and Dish and Direct satellite TV too. The Fox viewer is a younger demographic and tends to be the 18-34 year old viewer. Our Fox line-up in the afternoon, which features a lot of Judge shows, does particularity well in the Mid-Ohio Valley. Fox’s strong suit is their HUGE line-up of sporting events that they telecast. From Baseball and Nascar in the Spring, to College and Professional Football, Big 12 College Basketball, and now UFC events. They are a leader in sports television. Memorable Television is becoming the second most popular network in the valley behind WTAP-TV. Signing on in 2015! MeTV has all the family friendly programming that you watched growing up; Andy Griffith, Beverly Hillbillies, Bonanza, Chips, Emergency. Me-TV reaches into Wood, Washington, and Pleasants counties with a total of 48,868 TV Households and reaches 136,830 individuals.
