2 Cambridge Chronicle Cambridge Public School JUNE 2021 Monthly Activities ENVIRONMENT DAY: (GRADE I) Environment Day was celebrated on 7th June to create awareness amongst children to protect and conserve the environment. Students of Grade 1 enjoyed making ecofriendly cards using waste material. Students enthusiastically participated in various actipvaitriteicsipenatdeodrsininagcctiovnitsiersvation of environment to mark World Environment Day, even from their homes. They planted saplings at home with the help of their parents. This activity connected the students to nature as they understood the need to have green and clean environment to stay healthy. “Conservation is a state of harmony between men and land.” (GRADE II) The Earth is our home, and we must collectively make an effort to keep it clean and green. The Environment Day activities were conducted to bring about a positive change and make the surroundings cleaner, healthier and happier place to live. Water is elixir of life, students of Grade II made creative posters on ‘Water Conservation’ and spoke about the importance of water by participating in Poster Making & Slogan Writing Activity. The young minds came up with new ideas on how to save and conserve water. They also understood the value and importance of water in our life. Students made beautiful paper bags and learnt the concept of ‘REUSE’. They understood that plastic bags are hazardous to our environment instead, we can use paper bags and reduce plastic waste.
3 Cambridge Chronicle Cambridge Public School JUNE 2021 HEALTH & SAFETY Time and again it has been said that ‘Health is Wealth’. In the present-day scenario these are golden words of truth and to emphasize the importance of health, hygiene and fitness Health and Safety week was observed from 14th June 2021 to 17th June 2021. Students of Grade 1 & 2 participated in weeklong activities which focused on healthy eating habits, personal hygiene, and fitness. The students were also made aware and educated on ‘Stranger Danger.’ The students learnt that safety goes beyond just the physical. A child who feels safe will be able to explore and learn more. The students realized that a small step from their side today, can help them become fit and lead a healthy life in their coming future.
4 Cambridge Chronicle Cambridge Public School JUNE 2021 STUDENT CORNER ANUSHKA M.G GRADE II F PARENT ORIENTATION PROGRAMME Parents and the institution play an important role in a child’s learning, growth and development. Parent Orientation Programme at the beginning of the academic year for all the grades serves as an excellent prelude to bond school, parents and students for the common goal- the progress of the child. The orientation program, which was held on 15 May,2021 gave the parents an opportunity to understand the world their child explores in the virtual classes. It was an insight on the functioning of the school giving an overview about academics and cocurricular activities.
5 Cambridge Chronicle Cambridge Public School JUNE 2021 FATHER’S DAY WISHES Dads are most ordinary men turned by love into heroes, adventurers, storytellers, singers and many other such icons. Cambridge celebrated Father’s Day on Friday, 18th June 2021 honouring fatherhood and paternal bonds. The students participated in Cooking without Fire activity and shared some moments with their hero- ‘their DAD’. This Friday morning was not the hour of office calls but a period to share and create memories with the little hearts. Every child looks up to their dad as a pillar of support. A dad in the family is a person whose fears are unseen; his love is unlimited, but care and protection remain as a pillar of strength throughout our lives. The children truly enjoyed the fun moments with their father’s creating memories that will be cherished for years to come.
6 Cambridge Chronicle Cambridge Public School JUNE 2021 YOGA Yoga is just not for adults! The beauty of Yoga is that anyone can reap its benefits. Whether you are young or old, overweight, or fit, yoga has the power to calm the mind and strengthen the body. On the occasion of International Yoga Day on 21st June,2021, students took time off from regular curriculum learning and learnt to perform breathing exercises and a few asanas, the building blocks of yoga. It is important that the children learn and understand the benefits of Yoga right from the very young age. Today, in the age of technology and gaming, it has become very important to teach children activities that will not only create a positive impact on their well-being but also teach them discipline.
