editor's note When it comes to love, some people believe that actions speak louder than words. But how can we tell if an action is genuine if it cannot be expressed in words? There will always be disparate interpretations of what “weights more” in love. But one thing is certain: when translated correctly, love not only makes actions credible, but it also creates words that become stories, and then history. May these pages of love from different writers be your way to translate the love that you know into a different perspective. Experiences from the past, faces from the present, and hope for the future. Flip the pages and begin to unfold sentiments. EDSEL HARRY TURDA EDITOR-IN-CHIEF

BOY BEHIND 11/EROS THE TUNE The silent birth of the rhythm; BY JAYSON SABONG Made pure by the intention, To allow happiness and joy. Somewhere behind the splendid tune; Hold the flames alive. They were both at the ends of the earth, Never to see each other, even once, dare they ever meet. He was the sun, one of a million to light someone's universe; She was the moon, one of a million to make him love her first. The sun gave his light for the moon to reflect, The moon gave her light to the earth.

31/EROS BY JAYSON SABONG He was the sun, warming her cold and lonely space; She was the moon lighting up the earth, from its cold dark phase. The sun gave everything for the moon—a light to wreathe, The sun always dies at night for the moon to breathe. They would never, by chance, meet; because even if they could, even in eclipse, He could never ever kiss her lips.

LOVE OF FRIENDS

38/PHILIA LUJEAN GUIEB

A Friend 39/PHILIA By Maria Anna Jessica A. Rosqueta In the tenderness of morrow’s old age, I will lay under the stars, To reminisce the times, When you and I collided, Jumping from one milky way to another, Raised our ships together, And sailed upon our hopes and dreams, Yet you stood as a beacon of light for me, When I couldn’t find my way to shore. What friends are for? A home, a family, a threshold for serenity, A sanctity of relationships, For people who can see its value only. And for me, It’s you who made me feel its existence.

40/PHILIA AIRA NADINE

42/PHILIA PAOLA JOY BBronokdesn BY GRAZIEL MAE RAMAT

43/PHILIA I ask myself, “Where did it go wrong?” As I reminisce the days our bond was so strong And all the years we’ve been holding on, Strangers, we are again, like we’ve been all along. Broken bonds, worn out by time; And here I thought we’ll be friends for life, Broken hearts, can you mend mine? And I’ll patch yours too, and hold it until you’re fine. Maybe one day, we’ll cross paths with each other And share cups of coffee without being bitter— As we go back to good old days, And waiting ahead of us are the better days...

44/PHILIA PAOLA JOY

45/PHILIA Childhood Friend by Edmar Delos Santos You were my bosom-buddy a decade ago, but everything changed. I do not know what happened but, one thing is for sure, we parted ways and grow-up, and we don’t talk anymore. Although, I silently cheer for you, to your interests and achievements. We might not be friends anymore, but my 10-year-old self is grateful. I am happy that I have met you and thankful for our friendship. Though I am hoping and believing, our paths will cross again.

46/PHILIA PAOLA JOY

DAYS 47/PHILIA IN THE GOLDEN When the world was too heavy, You were there to carry it with me, SUN Though we are very different, You never made me feel sorry, BY MARIA ANNA JESSICA A. ROSQUETA For the way I am, For the way I see the world. I see you in my best memories of laughter and joy, And also in moments of tears, forlorn, and silly ploys. Though the passing of time may part our ways, Always remember me as your old friend, Who spent with you our lives’ golden days.

48/PHILIA ELLIPSIS BY JAMES CARLO LUCAS He who constantly feels the pain Is the one who always recedes Like how the summer sun dampens by the August rain Outstretched each night by fear to agony it proceeds Gloomy it is to live in a woeful life filled with desperation- Tarrying a mad agony that crawls from dawn to twilight A necklace of rope- the only catharsis he could think to end life’s desolation

49/PHILIA It always repeats, his anxiousness in thousands of fortnight No, not a chance to unmask how empty he had been For he doesn’t even know what to show, what to feel What he needs is a friend who can see deep within A friend who can unmask and remain until he heals Lest uttering, he’ll always put a period on his life and refuse to continue But a friend can change it into an ellipsis for him to start anew.
