Our Mentors are with us as always Reflections Just a year back or so, Micro Academy started its Musical journey synchronizing with dance after organizing a live performance in Indian Pavilion, Global Village - Dubai. Little they knew the potential of their members, support from parents and all well-wishers. But soon Micro Academy explored hidden talents of individuals and there after never looked back. Reflections of our expressions and feelings have been captured in the following pages starting from understanding of our beloved members having potential and their passion for music. Then, MA conceptualized, planned, coordinated thru innovative teaching methods, caring and sharing and finally execution. Every moment of our members with special effects with passion are worth for which we all are proud of. We strive for excellence with trial and gradual perfections. Compliment & supplement each other to create a space for our talents and form a Socio Cultural bond. Our parents are our biggest asset along with Sudip & Shonali and without continued belief and support extended by everyone , we would not have achieved exactly what we are to-day. Our budding talents are most disciplined having multi traits which we explore, nurture, retain and expose in a professional manner for building their future.

Our Evergreen partners with lot of innovations as always Reflections We have one similarity, our roots and dreams are common. All four of us are from Mumbai thou our early child hood we spent time in City of Joy, Kolkatta. One fine morning, we just thought of shaping some of our creative ideas into reality. Automatically, music came the first and we deliberated at length thinking what best can be done for our next generations and how to go about. With Shubhasishda and Kakolidi around with their huge experience along with our long relations for many years in Mumbai , concept of running a Music Academy surfaced first in our mind. Thereafter, we never had any looking back and cluster those thoughts in to activities and formed our Micro Academy with the Support from our friends /well-wishers who all are now in a single family having personal bond and ready to take our Academy to a greater height in future Our parents are our biggest asset and without their continued belief and support extended, we would not have achieved exactly what we are to-day. Few Moments with Kakoli , our Chief Mentor at Micro Academy : Interviewer: Debashree Kakoli di its wonderful after having you here and we find within a short time, you could reach people with your excellent interpersonal relations and soft spoken nature. Micro Academy ids grateful to you the way it is function today and wish you and your team for a bright future ahead. We are very much eager to know about Micro Academy, its concept, functioning and future path ahead and shall appreciate if we both can have some informal dialogue to have more clarity. You have been in teaching Music for years now. What best way you can define your passion? My passion is Music which heals heart and brings people closer thru expression of feelings Understand You & Shonali were long way associated and how this bond can help promoting MA ideas into action? Shonali was my most favorite & talented student and grew under umbrella of a musical fraternity. After coming here, we realized that it is worth exploring pool of talents in this part of the world and nourish the talented lot thru our thoughts and put in to action and deliver music for a greater society at large. So, concept of Micro Academy cropped up. You have served in Air India for the last 31 years in various functions. What best you can contribute to MA ? I love to interact with people from various cross sections to learn innovative way of acquiring knowledge and gain continuously. As regards my association with Air India , it was a long innings of 31 years, when I I could get an opportunity to serve on time thru good interpersonal relations which helps and bonds unity and diversity. Relationship helps to understand each other and it is again Music which has no barrier. God’s grace, it is going well with all our budding talents and even with seniors here Teaching takes lot of your time including travelling; do you feel this is must at this stage when Academy is in starting phase? Yes, no doubt it takes lot of my time at the cost of my family, but initially to understand potential of individuals and converting their strength to have better results over a period of time, there are no short cuts. One needs to dedicate and spend lot of time to shape a team having pool of talents. It’s a very

challenging and happy to see it’s happening & fortunately most of them are eager to learn for the betterment day by day Which type of learners attracts you most? Sincere, dedicated, ready to adapt changes for best results for our academy, all together as a team. It’s a win win for everyone interested Do you believe Music and interpersonal relations are aligned? Then, how As I said before , Music brings people closer and develops relations for a long. MA is here to sustain our core values of Cultural path and inculcate across the team irrespective of age After performing in major shows including overseas what do you feel most vital in Musical event? Most vital is our own trust of believing own self & increase strength, for weakness to improve and then trust others. Before one is ready to deliver in any type of shows when audience expectation is high to accept texture of Vocal quality, diction, Style, melody, feel and finally presentation. All such together is an output to accept a performer by the Audience. I am lucky to have Shubhasish with me who is very particular of having such qualities on time and every time Is it a passion or pride for you? It’s my passion and pride as well. Few Moments with Shonali, our Founder Partner at Micro Academy: Interviewer: Sumona Chatterjee What brings you in UAE after spending so many years in Mumbai I always wanted to stretch my capabilities and explore greener pastures. But, my coming to UAE began with an initial commitment for up to 2 years stay away from my Mumbai home and now has transcended over 18 years of stay here in Dubai. This place has its own magnetic charm. What type of Music attracts you most? When Micro Academy started and how it triggered? Popular music attracts me most. Be it the childhood original RD tracks that my dad played immediately after recording with Pancham kaku, to my Rabindrasangeet formal training songs. MA happened, there was not any specific plans but one fine day when kakolididi came to UAE from Muscat all I could think of is to recreate the magic of traditional art and culture in Dubai just like we did back in Bombay days. What is your role in Micro Academy? My role in MA is to create dreams for every single student who goes back home from the sessions humming the tunes of what she just learnt, that makes my day. The dream is to become one of the finest singers of the region. I would prefer to see myself as the backbone of MA that supports the body, here the music training sessions. What is your plan for MA in Foreseeable future? Plan for MA is to see this as the largest and best music training academy of the region with its roots firmly grounded in Indian culture. How is your boundary managed with regard to memberships drive? We have founder members, and the membership is steadily on the rise primarily because of our teaching methods, improve skill, providing platform that we have to offer to new untapped talents. Any other future diversified thoughts for MA. One thing I would like to focus on is to identify hidden talents and show them off to the world with talent hunt shows.

How do you manage your schedule and is there any deficiency in your varied role. Managing my schedule is an almost impossible task, as a true Libran I just weigh out priorities but keep a tab on all of the tasks that are in the to- do list so I can sooner lay my hands on them. One deficiency area that I would like to work on is to critically reflect on the whole picture of MA with continuous improvements , need to collect more willful feedback for betterment and challenging ourselves to perform even better every time. Ever green Shonali our Jack of all Trades with her bubbling energy, Charismatic Nandana of Durgapur our announcer, Beauty Queen Shampita of Behala and Seasoned performer Dipalidi of Vikhroli –Mumbai Aloke our great singer gave them space to dance in a group with his rendition of a popular folk number. Daughter of Madan and innovative Sudip our Silent Executor and Sound Engineer with Tenacity is perhaps thinking what is happening and not at all worried about Shonali his better half.

Our Gifts The most precious Gifts, Our Kids who are our present and future. They are so innocent, fun loving but methodical in their task. After completing their homework they love to attend classes, mingle with each other and maintain sound level with a high decibel of 75, then I have no option but to say “ Simon says , Keep silence for 5 minutes and sit in one place” Thereafter to change the TV Channels to 332/333 for Cartoons. But they are the best. They are learning caring and sharing with others with their mother tongue. We are very Proud of them We have our Lovely singer Subir , Jayshree and their talented daughter Aiswariya who Sings and dances so well and always made a point to attend & Perform in our all shows. A great musical family indeed Hats off to Dipladi and our over enthusiastic friend Rana and his wife Sushmita , Who are our great asset and always encourage others to tune with the group. They are part and parcel of Micro Academy. We also have our Talented Kajoldi and Rakhi who are our great motivators and extend their support as and when it is required in their busy schedule.
