The movie poster is now complete. Edit Text There are lots of options for editing text on a Type layer. Fonts, color, and sizes can be changed. Rewriting text can also be done. Choose a color with the Color Picker 1. Select the Brush tool. 2. Click to open the Brush Preset Picker 3. In the folder for General Brushes, choose the Soft Round brush and set the size to about 50px. 4. Choose Multiply as the blend mode. 5. Choose a color with the Eyedropper tool This tool can be used to sample and existing color from the artwork. 1. Select the Eyedropper Tool. 2. Use the Eyedropper tool to click on a light green color in the flowers photo. This will change the Foreground color to the color selected. Photo Editing 56

With the Brush tool still selected, paint on another flower in the sketch with the new Foreground color that was chosen from the swatches panel 5. With the Brush tool still selected, paint on a flower in the sketch with the color that you chose by switching the Background color to the Foreground color Four different methods for painting are now completed Adding Visual Effects Creating a Double Color Exposure Glitch Effect Hide a color channel with one click A color channel can be hidden on a layer in Layer Styles. This will leave only two colors to blend with the layer below, producing the double color look. 1. Choose Layer>Layer Style>Blending Options Photo Editing 58

2. Go to Advance Blending in the Layer Styles dialog and click the G check box to turn off the green channel. Click OK to close Layer Styles. A double color effect has now been created. Fine-tune the look To change the way the two poses, overlap this can be changed by moving one of the layers. Adjusting the saturation of the colors can also be done to fine-tune this effect. 1. Drag the Saturation slider to about 15 to make the colors less intense The color channel is now hidden, a layer is repositioned, and saturation has been adjusted; all to produce a beautiful and colorful creative effect. Reveal a splash of Color in a Black and White Image This will be a creative way to draw attention to part of an image to leave that area in color and make everything else black and white. Turn the image into a black and white A black and white adjustment layer changes a color image to black and white. The change happens on a separate layer and doesn’t harm the original. 2. Click the arrow to open the Brush Preset picker. 3. Drag the brush slider to about 35 PX and the brush Hardness slider to about 50% 4. Paint over the rose to bring in color only there. Paint with white over any area that was accidentally changed to color. Painting with white on the adjustment layer mask brings back the black and white adjustment. Photo Editing 65

PHOTO EDITING Photo Editing is the act of image altering. Techniques for editing photos are manually done, while others are done through automated software. Some photo editing can also be done offline, on actual photographs, posters, or other printed collateral. Importance of Photo Editing Editing helps get the best images, as close to your imagination when takin the photo perhaps even better. Adjusting Photo Lighting Brightening a dark photo to reveal details Use a Brightness/Contrast adjustment layer to add light to a dark image and reveal hidden details. Add a Brightness/Contrast adjustment layer A Brightness/Contrast adjustment layer lets you brighten a dark image and reveal details that are hidden in the shadows. 1. 2. Drag the Brightness slider to the right to about 125. 3. Try dragging the Contrast slider to about 85 to increase contrast Photo Editing 68

Evaluate how the adjustment has changed the photo 1. Click on the Eye icon to the left of the layer thumbnail to turn off the visibility of the Brightness/Contrast 1 layer. In the original photo, the darker areas are too dark. It’s hard to see the details between the tire and the body of the car. 2. Click in the empty square to the left of the Brightness/Contrast 1 layer thumbnail to turn the adjustment on. Photo Editing 69

The Brightness/Contrast adjustment works well for this image, particularly for the darker areas, revealing detail that could not be seen before. Enhancing Color in Photos Adjusting Color Vibrance in a Portrait photo Create a Vibrance adjustment layer Subtly increase the intensity of color in a photo without over-saturating skin tones. To select an area of an image and change its color using a solid color fill layer and a blend mode experiment by adjusting the sliders. Click OK when you’re done. The Saturation slider increases the color intensity of all colors in the image. Photo Editing 70

The Vibrance slider affects the intensity of colors. Orange Shirt Selection To select an area of an image and change its color using a solid color fill layer and a blend mode 1. Select the Quick Selection Tool. 2. Drag over the orange shirt to select it. Photo Editing 71

Color change of the selected shirt A Solid Color fill layer and a blend mode will be used to change the color of the shirt. 1. Click the Create new fill or adjustment layer icon and choose Solid Color. 2. Then in the Color Picker, choose a yellowish green color and click OK NOTE: Edit the color of the shirt at any time by double-clicking the color thumbnail on the Color Fill 1 layer, choosing a different color in the Color Picker, and Clicking OK. MICROSOFT PAINT What is Microsoft Paint Microsoft paint is a raster graphic editor that is included in Microsoft Windows. The program opens and saves files in Windows bitmap, JPEG, GIF, PNG, and single page TIFF formats. The program can work in color mode or two-color black, white. How to Open Microsoft Paint  To open Paint, Type paint in the search box on the taskbar Select Paint from the list of results. User Interface Hide or Show the Ribbon Paint has a ribbon with toolbars that are similar to the ones found in Microsoft Office. Users are able to open and close the ribbon by using the arrow point that sits on top of the toolbar. Home Tab Paint has two tabs. The Home tab includes the image editing tools that allows users to modify the image. View Tab The second tab is View. View changes the way images are displayed to assist users in making changes. File Menu The File menu button is located on the same line with the buttons for the Home and View tab. You can use the File menu to save changes, using the Save options. Selection Tools Allows user to select part of a picture that is any shape. The button with the image of a rectangle lets you select a rectangular area within an image. Photo Editing 75

SNIPPING TOOL What is Snipping Tool A snipping tool is a screenshot utility that can take screen shots in various ways The snipping various ways. Select New to take a screen shot The screenshot is automatically copied to your clipboard. A notification also appears once you’re finished taking a screenshot, select it for more editing options. Press Windows logo key +Shift + S The desktop will darken while users select an area for the screen. Users’ can select an area for their screenshot. Photo Editing 79
