Great videos shot in Saudi Arabia at Jabal Maqla: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZDfGiXJjjI&t=631s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YjrxHqNy5CQ&t=1041s Real life Mt. Sinai - Jabal Maqla The Bible describes supernatural events that occur at a Holy mountain. Finding evidence of this mountain and the divine interventions described in the Bible confirms the validity of Biblical testamony. The Mountain known as Mt. Sinai in Bible is known today as Jabal Maqla. It has very many characteristics which the Bible forecasts should be present. It's also exactly where it should be. The Bible says Mt. Sinai (also referred as Mt. Horeb) is east of Jordan. Deuteronomy 1:1-2\"These are the words Moses spoke to all Israel in the wilderness east of the Jordan—that is, in the Arabah—opposite Suph, between Paran and Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth and Dizahab. 2 (It takes eleven days to go from Horeb to Kadesh Barnea by the Mount Seir road.) Jabal Maqla is also where Midian was, and Moses came to Mt. Sinai while in Midian. After escaping Egypt after killing the Egpytian abusing the Hebrew slave he flees to Midian. Exodus 3:1: \"Now Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian, and he led his flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.\" The above location points to Jabal Maqla, Mt. Sinai.
Let's look at the characteristics which match the Biblical account. Burnt Top The top of the mountain is darkened in a strange way. It gives off the appearance of being scored by intense heat. This is backed by the account of Exodus in which God decends upon the mountain, before calling Moses up, and His presence burns the mountain. Exodus 19:18: \"Mount Sinai was covered with smoke, because the LORD descended on it in fire. The smoke billowed up from it like smoke from a furnace, and the whole mountain trembled violently.\"...\"The LORD descended to the top of Mount Sinai and called Moses to the top of the mountain.\"
Split Rock Exodus also records an event which occurs near Mt. Sinai, in where Moses strikes a rock near the mountain, and water gushes out. Exodus 17:6 \"I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb. Strike the rock, and water will come out of it for the people to drink.” So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel.\"
At Jabal Maqla, we find a split rock shaved clean in half. We also see evidence of water erosion at the bottom of the rock.
Moses' Altar In the Bible, there is an account of Moses building an altar at the base of Mt Sinai with 12 pilars. Exodus 24:4-5 \"And Moses wrote down all the words of the LORD. He got up early the next morning and built an altar at the foot of the mountain and set up twelve stone pillars representing the twelve tribes of Israel. 5 Then he sent young Israelite men, and they offered burnt offerings and sacrificed young bulls as fellowship offerings to the Lord. At the foot of Jabal Maqla, we find the remains of the 12 pillars next to an alter exactly in the way the Bible accounts. We can find evidence of burned sacrifices at this altar as well. Notice also, that the altar is made of non cute stones, to fulfill the requirements laid out in Exodus 20:25. Exodus 20:25: \"If you make an altar of stones for me, do not build it with cut stones, for you will defile it
if you use a tool on it” .
The Cave In 1st Kings 19:8-9, the Bible describes Elijah entering the cave at Mt. Horeb/Sinai. \"...Strengthened by that food, he traveled forty days and forty nights until he reached Horeb, the mountain of God. There he went into a cave and spent the night. And the word of the LORD came to him: “What are you doing here, Elijah?” So, the mountain must have a cave on it to qualify. Does Jabal Maqla have a cave? The anwser is yes.
Golden Calf and Graveyard In the Exodus, the Jews make an altar to a golden calf when Moses is on the Mountain consulting God. God is very angry and Moses burns the calf. Moses and a band of Levites kill 3,000 people for the sin of worshiping a false idol. Exodus 32:19-20: \"When Moses approached the camp and saw the calf and the dancing, his anger burned and he threw the tablets out of his hands, breaking them to pieces at the foot of the mountain. 20 And he took the calf the people had made and burned it in the fire; then he ground it to powder, scattered it on the water and made the Israelites drink it.\" At the foot of in viewing distance Jabal Maqla, we find an ancient altar with a calf inscriptions.
Above could be interpreted as people naked and dancing with animals. This fits the Biblical account after Moses returns to the Israelites it is said, Exodus 32:25 “Moses saw that the people were running wild and that Aaron had let them get out of control and so become a laughingstock to their enemies.”
The Saudi Arabian government has deemed it an archeology site, and has put fencing around it, as shown above. On the top rock of the altar shown above, we find an area that the golden calf might have placed and burned, as the account of Exodus says the calf was burned.
Gravesite For punishment for worshiping the false idol of the Golden calf, Moses kills 3,000 people and God inflicts a plague. Exodus 32:27-28: \"Then he said to them, “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘Each man strap a sword to his side. Go back and forth through the camp from one end to the other, each killing his brother and friend and neighbor.’” 28 The Levites did as Moses commanded, and that day about three thousand of the people died.\" Exodus 32:35: \" And the Lord struck the people with a plague because of what they did with the calf Aaron had made.\" Nearby the golden calf site, there is an ancient graveyard. Is this the site where the 3,000 killed were buried and people who died from the plague? The above shows vertical human made burial stones.
This is an inscription found near the gravesite. Perhaps depicts the 3,000 idoltulaters getting stabbed/killed.
Description of 12 wells and Palm trees After crossing the Red Sea Moses comes to Elim. Exodus 15:27 \"Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees, and they camped there near the water.\" This area today is in Tayyib al Ism, Saudi Arabia. Shortly East of the Red Sea, you can find exactly 12 wells in an area surrounded by palm trees.
Landscape perfectly fits Biblical account According to Exodus, 70 elders of Israel, Moses and a few others go partly up the mountain and eat and drink with the LORD. Then Moses alone goes up to the tip to speak with the LORD. Exodus 24: 9-12: \"Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel: And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness. And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw God, and did eat and drink. And the Lord said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them.” At Jabal Maqla, we find a flat plateau midway up the mountain surrounded by stones in all directions that makes a bowl shape. This could easily be a place where the 70 elders ate with the LORD, and afterwards Moses went alone to the top. Behind this uplifted area of rocks, there is the flat plateau. On the top left you can see the burned top in the distance.
This is a view from the ground from the plateau, and we can see the burnt top where Moses alone climbed up to.
Jewish Menorah found nearby While Moses is on top of Mt. Sinai, God details the famous lampstand or \"menorah\" to Moses. Exodus 25:31-32 “Make a lampstand of pure gold. Hammer out its base and shaft, and make its flowerlike cups, buds and blossoms of one piece with them. Six branches are to extend from the sides of the lampstand—three on one side and three on the other.\" In this area, Moses also creates the above mentioned Menorah. Exodus 37:17: \"He also made the lampstand of pure gold. He made the lampstand of hammered work. Its base, its stem, its cups, its calyxes, and its flowers were of one piece with it. 18 And there were six branches going out of its sides, three branches of the lampstand out of one side of it and three branches of the lampstand out of the other side of it;\" Nearby the mountain, we see a Jewish Menorah inscribed on one of the rocks. It is shown below in a picture captured in 2006. Unfortunately, this ancient inscription on the rocks showing proof of the Israelites’ existence there - was vandalized since 2006 once it was let known to the world through the internet.
Conclusion There are two types of evidence that we can derive from looking at these facts: historical pieces of evidence that collaborate the Exodus, and evidence of the Divine. Historical evidence that collaborates the Exodus account are as follows: 12 wells and palm trees East of the Red Sea where Moses and Jews drank from exactly as the Bible describes The remains of pillars and altar site found of uncut stones in the exact way the Exodus accounts at the foot of Mt. Sinai The golden calf altar with inscription and burn marks on top rock. The gravesite near the golden calf altar where the false idol worshippers were killed. The Jewish Menorah inscribed on the rocks indicates ancient Jewish presence in the area. As for the Divine evidence, this not only collaborates the Exodus account as real historical evidence but shows proof of Divine intervention. These fit for divine evidence: The split rock with water erosion at the bottom near Jabal Maqla Burnt top of mountain where the fire from God's presence descended upon the mountain. We are blessed to have this strong evidence today. As shown with the since vandalized Jewish Menorah, it's a miracle that we have all this supporting evidence 3,000+ years after it happened. We have the opportunity to spread this message to people and convince them to turn to Christianity.
