JAMES CHAPTER 11 Reflecting on the biblical motives of sowing, reaping, and harvesting comforts me. I often revisit Psalm 126:5: \"They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.” These words speak to the anguish and joy that accompanies life's struggles. It is the realization that meaningful labor yields a reward to keep me going through difficult times. My belief in God's faithfulness provides the strength to keep watering the dry ground with the hope that tender sprouts will emerge from rough terrain. As a woman wearing many hats, I often find my reserves depleted. The demands of everyday life frequently leave me feeling overwhelmed and confused. In these moments, I realize the urgency through God's Spirit. When stretched
beyond my limit, I reach out for prayers of intercession and words of comfort. Often, I find myself singing the songs I learned in church as a child. Sometimes I steal a quiet moment for prayer and meditation. Problems become manageable when I tap into my spiritual strength. They become less menacing when I invite the Holy Spirit to examine with me. The obstacles to my progress become mere weeds in my garden when I recognize God's presence in the planting process. Reach deep for your inner reserve of strength. Count it all joy when you fall into various trials.
