The apostle Paul had many helpers in his work ofministry. He listed them in his letter to Rome. He madespecial reference to Phoebe, who \"has been a helper ofmany and of myself also\". Priscilla and Aquila riskedtheir own lives for Paul. And Mary, Paul said, \"laboredmuch for us\".Helping is a spiritual gift. Paul listed it among the giftsfrom the Holy Spirit that are given to believers inChrist's body, the church. The gift of \"helps\" is just asneeded as the others that are listed.Even the Holy Spirit is called a \"Helper.\" Jesus said,\"The Helper, the Holy Spirit . . . will teach you all things,and bring to your remembrance all things that I said toyou\".In whatever ways the Holy Spirit, the Helper, has giftedyou, let Him use you for His honor. You are anecessary part of the whole.Bible ReadingRomans 16:1-27I Corinthians 12:1-31John 14:1-31

The churches of Christ salute you.17 ¶ Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions andoffences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly;

and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.19 For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore onyour behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simpleconcerning evil.20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. Amen.

I CORINTHIANS CHAPTER 121 ¶ Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, evenas ye were led.3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit ofGod calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, butby the Holy Ghost.4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God whichworketh all in all.7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word ofknowledge by the same Spirit;9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by thesame Spirit;10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to anotherdiscerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another theinterpretation of tongues:11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to everyman severally as he will.12 ¶ For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the membersof that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews orGentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into oneSpirit.14 For the body is not one member, but many.15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is ittherefore not of the body?16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; isit therefore not of the body?

17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole werehearing, where were the smelling?18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as ithath pleased him.19 And if they were all one member, where were the body?20 But now are they many members, yet but one body.21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor againthe head to the feet, I have no need of you.22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be morefeeble, are necessary:23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable,upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts havemore abundant comeliness.24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the bodytogether, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked:25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members shouldhave the same care one for another.26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or onemember be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.27 ¶ Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets,thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments,diversities of tongues.29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers ofmiracles?30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a moreexcellent way.

JOHN CHAPTER 141 ¶ Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would havetold you. I go to prepare a place for you.3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive youunto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.4 ¶ And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how canwe know the way?6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comethunto the Father, but by me.7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and fromhenceforth ye know him, and have seen him.8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thounot known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and howsayest thou then, Shew us the Father?10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the wordsthat I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me,he doeth the works.11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believeme for the very works' sake.12 ¶ Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I doshall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go untomy Father.13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Fathermay be glorified in the Son.14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.15 ¶ If ye love me, keep my commandments.16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that hemay abide with you for ever;

17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seethhim not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, andshall be in you.18 ¶ I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: becauseI live, ye shall live also.20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I inyou.21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that lovethme: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, andwill manifest myself to him.22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifestthyself unto us, and not unto the world?23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep mywords: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make ourabode with him.24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which yehear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.25 ¶ These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send inmy name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to yourremembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth,give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.28 ¶ Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again untoyou. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: formy Father is greater than I.29 And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come topass, ye might believe.30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh,and hath nothing in me.31 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gaveme commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.
