About Us Advanced Lightning Protection Systems Ltd is a company based in the UK which specialises in state of the art systems to protect property from lightning strikes. Combining an innovative design with early streamer emission technology our products provide some of the highest quality protection on the market. At Advanced Lightning Protection Systems, we are professionals at designing and manufacturing state of the art ESE lightning protection systems. Our trained and experienced engineers manufacture all our ESE devices to ISO 9001 quality standards. Our systems have also been tested by various leading testing organisations and conform to NF C 17-102: 2011; the standard used for ESE systems. We can provide protection for a wide variety of buildings and structures including solar panel fields, schools, churches, government buildings, data centres and more.
ALPS ESE Device ALPS ESE 35.5 Description We have designed and engineered our ESE systems from the ground up in the UK. Our devices are manufactured to ISO 9001:2015 quality standards and have been tested to NF C 17-102:2011; the standard used for ESE systems. Due to the extra ionisation process that occurs in an ESE device, it provides a larger radius of protection than a traditional franklin rod. Specifications: Name: ALPS ESE 35.5 Standard: NF C 17-102: 2011 Trigger Advance (ΔT): 35.5μs Material: Stainless Steel Weight: 2.1 kg Dimensions: 74 x 74 x 370mm Drawings available on request or visit: www.alpsystemsltd.com/testing All weights & dimensions are approximate
ALPS ESE Device ALPS ESE 35.5 Radius Of Protection - Confirmed by Warwick University The radius of protection Rp of an ALPS ESE is given by the French standard NF C 17-102 (September 2011). It depends on the ESEAT eff iciency ∆T of the ALPS ESE measured in a high voltage laboratory, on the levels of protection I, II, III or IV calculated according to the lightning risk assessment guides or standards (NF C 17-102 annex A or IEC 62305-2, guides UTE C 17-100-2 or UTE C 17-108) and on the height h of the lightning air terminal over the area to be protected (minimum height = 2 m). The protection radius is calculated according to Annex C in Fusreendcih−n sℎtht2ae+npdΔr(aortde+cNtΔFi)oCn r1a7-d1i0uℎ2s. c≥Faolcr uAlLatPioSnEsSisE , the value of ∆T 35.5 µs (ℎ∆T∗ = (T5’)S/R5AT – T’ESE≤ATℎ ≤= 366.9 – 331.4 = 35.5 µs) ΔT LVL I r values LVL IV 35.5 μs r = 20 LVL II LVL III r = 60 r = 30 r = 45 H (m) I Protection Level IV 21 II III 31 2 32 24 28 47 3 43 36 42 62 4 53 48 56 78 5 54 61 70 79 6 54 61 70 80 8 55 62 71 81 10 62 72

ALPS Pole / Mast ALPS Pole / Mast (Various lengths) Description The ALPS ESE Pole / Mast is made from galvanised mild steel and is available in various heights to suit different situations. Depending on the height of the mast it will be provided in either one or two sections which connect together. Testing for wind resistance was carried out receiving a FoS of over 2 for winds reaching 100mph. They can be mounted to a flat surface or to the side of a building using the relevant fixings in our product line-up. Specifications: Name Height Diameter Sections Material Weight ALPS Mast 2 m 2 m 48.3 mm 1 Mild Steel 6.4 kg Galvanised ALPS Mast 3 m 3 m 48.3 mm 1 Mild Steel 9.6 kg Galvanised ALPS Mast 5 m 5 m 48.3 mm 2 Mild Steel 16 kg Galvanised ALPS Mast 6 m 6 m 48.3 mm 2 Mild Steel 19.2 kg Galvanised * As stated in NF C 17-102: 2011 an ESEAT should be 2 meters or more above any object in the protected area * All weights & dimensions are approximate
ALPS Base Stand ALPS Base Stand (Fixing) Description Made from galvanised mild steel our base stands are made to allow for the fixing of our ESE systems to a flat roof / surface. The mast fits over the stand and is secured with the bolts supplied. The base stand is one of the two methods of installation we offer along with our side mounting brackets. Specifications: Name Dimensions (mm) Material Weight ALPS Base Stand 616 x 616 x 1050 Mild Steel Galvanised 17.4 kg (W/ 4x Angle Sections) All weights & dimensions are approximate
ALPS Side Brackets ALPS Side Brackets (Pair) Description Side brackets offered as a pair are used for mounting the ALPS ESE system to the wall or side of a building. Made from galvanised mild steel there are two versions available to avoid any issues with clearance. For the best installation we recommend leaving about a 600mm gap between the two brackets. Specifications: Name Length Material Includes Weight ALPS Side Bracket 260 mm Mild Steel Galvanised 2 supports 1.25 kg (Pole fitting 170 mm) ALPS Side Bracket Mild Steel Galvanised 2 supports 1.35 kg (Long) 360 mm (Pole fitting 270 mm) All weights & dimensions are approximate
ALPS Lightning Counter ALPS Standard Lightning Counter Description When the lightning current is discharged to ground, the lightning counter can induce it and will count correctly. The ALPS lightning strike counter is suitable for all SPD’s, lightning rods and more. This version of the lightning strike counter is digital so once the discharge current has been induced the number of lightning strikes counted is simply displayed on screen. The ALPS lightning counter has the advantage of being water and dust resistant.
Maintenance The ALPS lightning counter doesn’t require any special maintenance. Annually check the ground wire of the SPD or the down conductor to ensure the contact segment is well connected. When the display is blank on the screen or the display is faded then screw out the four screws, open the cover and replace the battery inside with one of the same model. Specifications: ALPS Lightning Strike Counter Type/ ≥500A 0-999999 times Minimum counting current (8/20µs) Count Number D≤20mm 100x68x70mm Down Conductor Maximum Diameter Measurements L*W*H ≤95% Working Humidity -40~+85°C Operating Temperature
Product Development We have invested heavily into the development of our products and worked closely with various testing facilities and leading UK Universities. The ALPS ESE system has been carefully designed by our highly skilled engineers for the easiest installation possible. The ALPS ESE has a curved top designed to act as an umbrella preventing rain penetrating the device, the pole structure has also been designed to withstand high speed winds with a Factor of safety over 2 for winds up to 100 mph. Our devices are manufactured to ISO 9001: 2015 quality standards and conform to NF C 17-102: 2011. Our systems are often more cost effective than traditional solutions and are more environmentally friendly due to less raw material usage.
