About Us Advanced Lightning Protection Systems is a company based in the UK which specialises in state-of-the-art systems to protect buildings from lightning strikes. Combining state of the art design with early streamer emission technology our products provide some of the highest quality protection on the market. At Advanced Lightning Protection Systems, we are professionals at designing and manufacturing state of the art Early Streamer Emission lightning protection systems. Our trained and experienced engineers manufacture all our ESE devices to ISO 9001 quality standards. Our systems have also been tested by various leading testing organisations and our systems conform to NF C 17-102 the BSEN 62305 equivilant standard for ESE systems. We can provide protection for a wide variety of buildings and structures including solar panel fields, schools, churches, government buildings, data centres and more. The only UK company to produce fully tested and certified ESE systems
ALPS ESE Device ALPS ESE 35.5 Description We have designed and engineered our ESE systems from the ground up in the UK. Our devices are manufactured to ISO 9001:2015 quality standards and have been tested to NFC 17-102:2011 the equivelant to BS EN 62305 for ESE systems. Due to the extra ionisation process that occurs in an ESE device, it provides a larger radius of protection than a traditional franklin rod. Specifications: Name: ALPS ESE 35.5 Standard: NFC 17-102: 2011 Trigger Advance (ΔT): 35.5μs Material: Stainless Steel Weight: 2.1 kg Dimensions: Ø74.0 Ø2.0 145.0 Ø18.0 30.0 195.0 Manufacturer: Advanced Lightning Protection Systems Ltd. Ø60.0 Type: E.S.E ΔT = TBA Serial Num: PROTOTYPE1(W/O-BATTERY) & PROTOTYPE2(W/-BATTERY) Tolerance: ± 2mm MADE IN THE UNITED KINGDOM
ALPS ESE Device ALPS ESE 35.5 Radius Of Protection The radius of protection Rp of an ALPS ESE is given by the French standard NF C 17-102 (September 2011). It depends on the ESEAT eff iciency ∆T of the ALPS ESE measured in a high voltage laboratory, on the levels of protection I, II, III or IV calculated according to the lightning risk assessment guides or standards (NF C 17-102 annex A or IEC 62305-2, guides UTE C 17-100-2 or UTE C 17-108) and on the height h of the lightning air terminal over the area to be protected (minimum height = 2 m). The protection radius is calculated according to Annex C in French standard NF C 17-102. For ALPS ESE, the value of ∆T used in the protection radius calculations is 35.5 µs (∆T = T’SRAT – T’ESEAT = 366.9 – 331.4 = 35.5 µs)
ALPS ESE Device ALPS ESE 60 - COMING SOON! ALPS ESE 60 An all new ESE is being added to our item list. Our new ESE is currently being developed by our engineers and will provide a greater Radius of Protection, becoming the best available in our lineup. The ALPS ESE 60 will have a triggering advance time of 60μs, the highest acheivable according to the NFC 17-102: 2011 standard. The Rp is shown below: Follow us online to keep updated: www. al ps y s t ems l t d. c om
ALPS Pole / Mast ALPS Pole / Mast (Various lengths) Description The ALPS ESE Pole / Mast is made from galvanised steel and is available in various heights to suite different situations. Depending on the height of the Mast it will be provided in either one or two sections which connect together. Testing for wind resistance was carried out receiving a FoS of over 2 for winds reaching 100mph. They can be mounted to the ground or to the side of a building using the relevant fixings in our product lineup. Specifications: Name Height Diameter Sections Material Weight ALPS Mast 2 m 2 m 48.3 mm 1 Galvanised 6.4 kg Steel ALPS Mast 3 m 3 m 48.3 mm 1 Galvanised 9.6 kg Steel ALPS Mast 5 m 5 m 48.3 mm 2 Galvanised 16 kg Steel ALPS Mast 6 m 6 m 48.3 mm 2 Galvanised 19.2 kg Steel * As stated in NFC 17-102: 2011 an ESEAT should be 2 meters or more above any object in the protected area *
ALPS Base Stand ALPS Base Stand (Fixing to Ground) Description Made from galvanised steel our base stands are made to allow for the fixing of our ESE systems to a flat roof / surface. The mast fits over the stand and is secured with the bolts supplied. The base stand is one of the two methods we offer however we would always reccomend using a ground fixing when it’s an available option. Specifications: Name Dimensions (mm) Material Weight ALPS Base Stand 616 x 616 x 1050 Galvanised Steel 17.4 kg
ALPS Side Brackets ALPS Side Brackets (Pair) Description Side brackets offered as a pair are used for mounting the ALPS ESE system to the wall or side of a building. Made from galvanised steel there are two versions available to avoid any issues with clearence. For the best installation we recommend leaving about a 600mm gap between the two brackets. Specifications: Name Dimensions (mm) Material Includes Weight ALPS Side Brack- TBA Galvanised Steel 2 supports 1.25 kg et TBA Galvanised Steel 2 supports 1.3 kg ALPS Side Brack- et (Long) * Where a ground fixing is viable this is reccomended *
Product Development We have invested heavily into the development of our products and worked closely with various third parties to make sure our ESE systems are fully functional and up to standard. The ALPS ESE system has been carefully designed by our highly skilled and experienced engineers for the easiest installation possible. The ALPS ESE has a curved top designed to act as an umbrella preventing rain penetrating the device, the pole structure has also been designed to withstand high speed winds with a Factor of safety over 2 for winds up to 100 mph. Our devices are manufactured to ISO 9001: 2015 quality standards and have been tested to NFC 17-102: 2011 the BS EN-62305 equivelant for ESE systems. Testing & Ce r ti f ication COBHAM LIGHTNING TESTING AND CONSULTANCY - “ Lightning attractors were tested with a high energy content current pulse. The emission technology was still functioning as intended after all tests.” ICMET LABORATORY CRAIOVA - “ The tested lightning conductor is an E.S.E.A.T. (early streamer emission air terminal) because it fulfils all the conditions stipulated by standard (according to NFC 17- 102)” WARWICK UNIVERSITY - “ The results indicate a minimum factor of safety over 2 for winds up to 100 mph”
Certificate of Conformity Our ESE devices have been tested by various testing facilities around the world. All of our devices have been tested to standard NF C 17-102: 2011 the equivalent to the British standard of BS EN-62305 for ESE systems. When you order from us with every ESE device purchased you will also receive a certificate to confirm the eff iciency of the device, this will also include the individual serial numbers of the devices sold so each device is traceable.
