Eating Healthy For StudentsFor students, eating at college is an entire newball game, with late night pizza delivery and foodfrom buggies. Even though some of these quick andsimple options taste great, they are probablynot healthy for a student's body. The food choices students make can affect whetheror not they are able to remain awake during classand whether or not they will come down withmononucleosis when it hits campus. The problemis not only about eating junk food, it's moreabout not getting the proper proteins, carbs, vitamins, and minerals that people need. When it comes to defending against illnesses, vitamins and minerals are very important. Justbecause they are important, isn't a reason forstudents to run out and stock up on vitamins andsupplements. It's best for students to get theirnutrition from food. You can find vitamin C in citric fruits, VitaminA in milk and diary products, and vitamin E innuts, whole wheat products, and even green leafyvegetables. This is the ideal way to getnutrition, as your body relies on these vitaminsfor many reasons. When you eat on campus, skip on the soda's andgo right to the juice machines. Explore thedifferent entrees available and go to the saladbar where there are fresh vegetables. You can
also try putting some broccoli and cauliflowerin the microwave for steamed vegetables. Thereare always healthy cereals and plenty of freshfruit available in dining halls as well.Always remember that eating healthy isn't justabout avoiding greasy foods. Eating healthyinvolves getting a balanced diet and getting theright nutrients and vitamins to keep your bodyin peak performance - or at least awake duringyour classes.(word count 288)PPPPPTitle:How To Implement Golf Fitness Exercises Into Your Golf Swing Improvement ProgramWord Count:917Summary:Over the last few weeks at BioForce Golf, we have had many questions about golf fitnessexercises.Questions such as: are these type of exercises beneficial to someone who has had a lower backinjury, what are the best types of exercises to improve my clubhead speed, and what flexibilityexercises can improve my back swing?Through many of our free daily golf tips on our website, we have provided answers to thesequestions and many more. One area of golf fitness I get quite a few questions about revolves onhow to implement golf exercises into a golf swing improvement program.
搘 抳Many of the individuals who come to our site are not experts in orking out.?I e written mygolf-specific exercise manual, YOUR BODY & YOUR SWING, to help you develop aprogram for yourself.Probably one of the most-asked questions is: how do I go about introducing certain exercisesinto my golf fitness program? At times, certain individuals are unable to perform an exercise in its basic form. They are eitherout of shape, suffering from an injury, or too stiff to perform it correctly. A Russian Twist maybe too difficult for a beginner to execute correctly. It takes great core strength, endurance andflexibility to complete the exercise to the limit.揵In this type of situation there are aby steps?you can take in terms of implementing suchexercises into your golf fitness program.損I like to call this the osition, movement, tolerance?training guideline. This is an easymethodology to follow in terms of implementing exercises into a training program.抣We l use the Russian Twist exercise in my book, YOUR BODY & YOUR SWING, as anexample. When you are implementing a golf fitness exercise(s) into your golf swing improvementprogram, you must be able to place the body in the correct starting position of the exercise. For example, if I were to have you perform a Russian Twist, first I would ask you to place your揳body in the correct position for the exercise. In this situation it would be knees slightly bent andplacing your torso in a position where the bs were turned on.Hold it Right There!Just placing your body in the correct position for an exercise requires effort from the body. If揾you were able to place your body in the correct position, I would then ask you to old?thisposition for a certain amount of time. This would indicate you are strong enough to addmovement to your golf fitness exercise. On the other hand, if you were only able to hold the starting position of the Russian Twist for揾15 seconds before your lower back started to bother you, this is an indicator to me that this iswhere we begin your golf fitness program. I would have you old?the start position of thisgolf exercise for a certain number of seconds and sets. This would, over a period of time, develop more strength and endurance in those golf muscles.揾 搈Once we have reached a good old?time on a golf exercise, we then progress to addingovement?into the equation. Movement simply stands for range of motion (how much movementyou can do). Every golf exercise has a certain range of motion you move through to get thegreatest benefit for your golf game.In the Russian Twist example, a full range of motion would be a full shoulder turn to the left搈and right of center. Again, at the beginning you may be unable to make a full shoulder turn. Sowhat do we do? We slowly work on increasing the ovement?within the golf exercise untilyou are at a point of full range.
損 搈As with the idea of osition,?we do the same with the idea of ovement.?We graduallyincrease until you have achieved a full range of motion in the golf exercise. Once this isachieved, we move on to the final stage of implementing a golf-specific exercise.搕The final stage of implementing any golf exercise into your golf swing improvement program is olerance.?Tolerance can be defined as performing the correct number of sets and repetitionsof a golf exercise for it to be beneficial to your golf game.No Pain, No Gain!搉The idea of o pain, no gain?does not work in this situation. Rather, you want to be able toperform a self-prescribed number of sets and reps of every golf exercise in your program. Thisprescribed amount of work is up to you, the individual golfer, and what you feel is best for yourbody.搉Too little work will provide you no benefit. Too much work or following the o pain, nogain?mind-set can increase the possibility of injury greatly. You need to use your best judgment on every golf exercise in your program. This will allowyou to perform each golf exercise with the correct technique, develop (maybe over time) the搚correct range of motion of each golf exercise in your program, and finally take each exercise to our own level of tolerance.損It is very easy to implement golf exercises into your golf swing improvement program. Followthe simple rule of osition, movement, tolerance,?and this should help you dramatically in thedevelopment of your golf fitness program.抳 抣Once you e mastered the exercises and routines in your current exercise program, you l beready to take it to the next level, a more advanced program.Sean CochranTitle:The Power Of Emotional HealthWord Count:801Summary:It has always been said that a healthy body cannot be divorced from a healthy mind or a healthyspirit. Neglecting your emotional health can damage your physical health in the process.Emotions are so powerful it has the ability to make us sick, as well as provide healing. Keywords:
stress, anxiety, relationships, depression, mental healthArticle Body:Man's obsession with physical fitness is evident wherever you go. There is a phenomenalincrease in the growth of fitness clubs and gyms. People have become conscious of their bodyimage that they are willing to go the extra mile just to have the same sculptured body like thosethat are usually splashed in the pages of the magazines, billboards, TV, and movie screens.People try to find sensible and sustainable ways to achieve and maintain a physically fit body, yet tend to overlook another important aspect of their well-being: their emotional health. It has always been said that a healthy body cannot be divorced from a healthy mind or a healthyspirit. Emotional health is considered an integral part of man's overall wellness. Neglectingyour emotional health can damage your physical health in the process. Research has shown thatone of the leading contributors to illness is stress caused by unresolved emotional issues.Psychologists believe that emotions, such as fear, joy, sadness, and anger are mental responsesto events, circumstances, people, or our own thoughts and memories. They course through ourconscious and unconscious mind at critical junctures or during seemingly inconsequentialmoments of our lives.Biologists, on the other hand, tell us that our emotions are rooted in self-preservation, triggeringphysiological reactions that enable us to find food, escape danger, and reproduce. In his workentitled Emotional Intelligence, author Daniel Goleman pointed out that, ?..all emotions are, inessence, impulses to act, the instant plans for handling life that evolution has instilled in us.\"Emotions have also evolved into facial expressions and body language so that each member ofthe group can signal his or her wants and needs to other members. As John D. Mayer, a leadingexpert in the study of emotions, has remarked: \"Emotions convey information...aboutrelationships.\"Emotions are so powerful and actually possess the ability to make us sick, as well as providehealing. Emotions are relayed to the immune system through the autonomic nervous system. When people experience anxiety, depression, and other painful emotions, the immune systemcan be affected and may cause risk for a whole host of illnesses. In the same way, having ahealthy emotional outlook in life can boost the resistance against disease.Mayer has emphasized, \"People can reason with emotions in the same way they reason withcognitive information. So you can solve emotional problems just as mathematicians solve mathproblems.\" However, he also acknowledged that some emotions, such as grief and anger, can be搑harder to control or reason with. The interplay of various emotions make that form ofeasoning?very difficult. Not all experts agree that human beings are born with a full range of emotions. Instead, sometheorize that people were born with instincts and urges, along with an innate capacity forfeeling. As people grow older, they develop personalities and nurture relationships with others, which are valuable experiences that help them expand their feelings into full-fledged emotions.Having a complete range of emotion is important for overall health and well-being.Emotional health consists of five key components:1.Being aware of your emotions. Emotionally healthy people are in touch with their emotionsand can identify and acknowledge them as experience.2.Being able to process your emotions. After connecting with their emotions, emotionallyhealthy people develop appropriate ways of expressing them.3.Being sensitive to other people and their emotions and having the ability to empathize. Theability to identify their own emotions enables emotionally healthy people to identify emotionsin others and to have an intuitive sense of what it feels like to experience them.
4.Being self-empowered. Emotionally healthy people honor their emotions, which empowersthem to fulfill their goals.5.Being in healthy relationships. Using their emotional intelligence and empathy, emotionallyhealthy people build and maintain strong, functioning relationships.Just as emotional health can affect a person's physical health, the same is true with one'slifestyle making a direct impact on emotional health. Vitamins and minerals stimulates theproduction of chemicals in the brain. These are known as neurotransmitters that regulate ourphysical and mental health functions, including the way we process emotions. Minordeficiencies of these nutrients can lead to depression and irritability, as well as hamper ourability to concentrate and stay motivated.Definitely, unhealthy foods can adversely affect emotional health. Excessive intake of caffeinedemonstrate many of the same physiological and psychological symptoms as people sufferingfrom anxiety, while a diet with too much sugar has been linked to depression, aggression, andimpaired judgment. Many experts believe that people with strong spiritual fervor tend to have healthier immunesystems and are less prone to depression and high blood pressure. It can be surmised that thefaith of religious adherents gave them an enhanced sense of well-being which helped reducetheir levels of stress.
